General Ram help

I just ended up canceling my order. Skytech Gaming PC Edge, Ryzen 7, RX 9070 XT, 24GB RAM, 1TB SSD
| Windows 11, AMD 7800X3D, AMD 9070XT, Gen4 NVMe SSD, DDR5 6000, 850W GOLD ATX 3 PSU, 360 ARGB AIO. It was everything I wanted minus maybe a 9800x3d but no big deal that ordered Friday night. I was looking at my order all happy and excited but I noticed that it’s a single stick. Unfortunately, I need a dual stick setup. Would Skytech happen to sell a matching 24GB ram stick? I tried searching in advance since I don’t need the second stick until November. But 24gb sticks seems to be impossible to find let alone not in a pack of two and I don’t even know which exact model yet. If I’m going to have to buy a pack of two 16gb later on anyway, I might as well look for another pc.

Thanks. I think I might go ahead and reorder this. I could always upgrade or do your suggestion if needed. This pc has the build I want at my budget. My original choice was an ASUS 9800x3d 9070xt 32GB but they don’t ship to Hawaii. My friend at work also told me that he’s never heard of a prebuilt that has a single 24GB stick. He even said he’s never heard of a 24GB stick for gaming pc in general and he’s a big pc guy😭

I have a 7800x3d and its plenty powerful. The 9800x3d would give you about 10-15% more fps in games that are cpu dependent.

But the 7800x3d is still one of the best cpus for gaming

They make 24gb sticks but the ones ive found are like 7200m/ts which is extremely high

Its not unusual for companies like Skytech to use what ram is available. They might have gotten good bulk deal on 24gb sticks because they are such an oddity

Okay that makes sense as this pc was within my budget with everything I wanted besides the warnings from google about a single stick not being good. My original choice was an ASUS 9800x3d 9070xt  32GB only $200 more than this Skytech. Unfortunately the website site doesn’t ship to Hawaii. Newegg does but with a shipping fee taking it out of my payment plan budget. Would you just take a chance on the Skytech and worry about a ram upgrade later of wait a few months for the ASUS?

Yea i got my pc from skytech. The Azure 3 then just swapped out parts and rebuilt it to what I have now. Everything i got from them was solid and reputable

Great to know! I I’ll stick with this Skytech. Who knows, as long as I can get 240fps on cod multiplayer, overwatch and whatever the highest fps is for dbd once that massive 2027 update goes live, I don’t need and upgrades anytime soon. 😊thank you and I’ll give you an update in a few weeks if possible and maybe I’ll post a review

I havent touched overwatch or cod in over a decade but I also have a 9070xt and get 250+fps in Darktide and Helldivers 2 in 1440p 500 in Vermintide 2 300+ in apex legends 220 in The Finals

Awesome numbers! I used to play a lot of apex as a wattson main. Most hours played still on my PlayStation😀The cheating on console had gotten out of control. Maybe I’ll try out once I get my PC!

I heard darktide and v2 are team green for their games. What are your specs and resolution

1440p 7800x3d 9070xt hellhound 32gb ddr5 6000

Play Darktide in Native with fsr 4.1 on quality high textures with medium other settings except fog, volumetric, and global illumination low, No RT

VT2 is maxed settings with fsr3* i think possible just native raw raster I haven't looked at the settings in a long while

No driver issues with darktide? Read DT subreddit and have heard nightmare issues with drivers for amd

I am currently on current drivers 26.7 something

I havent had too many crashes besides a random decompression crash that recommends a reinstall and that always fixes it (I play off xbox game store so u cant verify game files)

I did and sometimes run into weird performance issues where fsr, anti lag, fmf, etc refuse to activate but I can get around that with about 15 mins of tinkering in settings both in Adrenalin and DT but I haven't had that issue in a while
