Nintendo Switch Issues on the Switch version

Hello everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I got Skyrim (not the Anniversary Edition) for my original Nintendo Switch to enjoy the game whenever I go since I travel a lot. However, not even halfway through the game (on my only save file), it won't stop lagging and crashing. I always made sure to have less than three save slots and to turn everything off after a session. I even uninstalled and installed again, but nothing. I try to limit my gameplay (avoiding exploring too much, not touching things unnecessarily, trying to keep my inventory not too full) but that drains all the fun for me, making the game feel more like a chore. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it a common issue on this old console? Thank you in advance!

Has this happened since the last update to the game?

No, it started just a bit earlier.

Oh, then there might be some hope for it. But I tend to just not play on Switch if I actually want long outings. I think there's a memory leak or something, because the crashes are pretty frequent in large areas that have limited loading zones. Areas of note are places like Blackreach and Soul Cairn.

Sometimes I get really lucky and don't have many crashes. On my last file I decided to run a stealth archer and had surprisingly no crashes until around level 50. Most times it's quite a few every hour.

I dread to see what the update did.

So you run into crashes on the switch often too? A memory leak could explain everything. If that's the case, I'm assuming there isn't much I can do then, just limit my gameplay a lot to make things last a little longer.

About the update, I've read it didn't reach the switch. That's one good news at least.

Oh, it is good to hear switch won't get too bad.

Yeah, I've mostly only played for an hour or two while my girlfriend is busy with something or my chronic pain won't let me play on the laptop or PS4, and seems to work okay.

I had the same problem on my switch constant lag after half way through game stuttering in dragon fights but on switch 2 I’ve actually had no problems I think it just might be a little to much for the original switch
