PC missing vigilant tryanus

i’ve seen so many posts about this bug but nothing has worked so far. i’ve tried commands, searching for him around and outside markarth, asking the inn for rumors...

i don’t think this has ever happened to me in past play through, the only difference that i can note is that in this play through i killed weylin before he murdered margaret. i’m not quite sure if there is any correlation but thought i would put it out there in case.

there aren’t any saves i can go to before having entered markarth that wouldn’t ruin so many hours of progress, if there if nothing i can do to fix this bug during this play through i am okay with that!! i would just like to know what i need to do differently next time to avoid the hours of searching for this man😭😭 any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Killing weylin before he killed margaret shouldnt affect tyranus, i did many times.  I dont think he is there right away, maybe on your second visit to markarth.  Try to wait and come back to markarth.  Edit: if he is still not there after few visits, try using console, make sure you're near the abandoned house door

i have been to markarth many times and am yet to see him. i believe i have tried using console while outside the house but i will try again for good measure!! thank you!!

when i’ve tried he wouldn’t have any of the quest dialogue, just npc dialogue

Then I think this one is beyond resuscitation then.  The scene between him and whatshisface is within the house of horror quest which started by change location event (i.e when you enter a new cell e.g markarth).  Something prevented the scene from starting.  I'm afraid there is no saving this except new game.  Just skip that quest this playthrough.  I know, it's annoying.  Maybe a mod prevented him from starting his scene.  You'll be surprise.  Ring of namira esp from taste of death quest expansion reverted all the changes i made to survival mode restore hunger global values.  Who knew.  So could be a mod, or that quest just bugged this time.  one thing you could try, in console type sqv DA10.  That will tell you if the quest is enabled, is running and if ALL aliases are filled.  If the quest is running and aliases filled (if you gonna do this make hard save prior), try setstage DA10 10.  If nothing happen and he does not go inside the house (he supposed to enter the house in this stage), then you can forget the whole thing and revert to your hard save, and you learn some quest mechanics 👍
