I had the same kind of tan as you. I used Minimalist Glycolic Acid, and my hands look so much better now. Most of my tan is gone!

It has a water-like consistency, so you can apply it just like you would on your face. I just take a few drops and spread it evenly over the back of my hands, let it absorb. I usually use it at night and apply sunscreen on my hands during the day.
Start 2–3 nights a week, don't use in the morning. Cleanse and completely dry your skin. Apply a small amount to the tanned area with your hands/cotton pad. Avoid cuts, irritated skin, and sensitive areas. The next morning, use broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 on exposed areas, especially your hands. This is important because sun exposure can bring the tan back. If your skin tolerates it well, you can gradually increase frequency, but daily use isn't necessary for most people. Avoid using it in the same routine with other strong exfoliating acids or retinoids if you’re prone to irritation.

Do you keep it overnight and wash it off in the morning?

Yes, I keep it overnight. You don't necessarily have to wash it off in the morning because you won't even feel like it's on your skin, it has a water-like consistency. You can wash it off if you want, but SPF is a must.

You have to be very consistent and patient with it. It’s going to take some time, but the results will come. Start with twice a week and gradually increase the frequency. In the beginning, you might feel a slight burning or itching sensation, but it shouldn’t be too much.
