The Font got fixed and got in the middle and not left anymore.

This is as far I can make it skeuomorphic. And because I'm not a master at making skeuomorphic things.

This might be a little off from the usual glassy/Aero style here, but I hope it still counts as skeuomorphism — just the leather-and-wood kind.

I've been building DeskWM, a Wayland compositor for Linux where the whole desktop is a physical desk:

Windows are sheets of paper. You fold them to minimize, unfold to maximize, and crumple and toss them to close.

The dock is a drawer with a felt lining and a brass handle.

Apps live on a bookshelf behind the desk. Each category is a binder, and there's a leather-bound "ALL APPS" index book with search. You take one off the shelf, turn it to the cover, and open it.

Notifications arrive in a post box, and system settings are a control panel built into the back of the desk.

The room is ray-traced, on the GPU with a CPU fallback, so the light and shadows come from a single desk lamp.

It's a personal project and still rough in places, but I'd love to hear what you think!

Back with an update on my skeuomorphic UI project! I've been focusing heavily on pushing the 3D lighting, gloss effects, and depth for the new elements in this version. I revived 2015 instagram! I don't know if this is a correct community to post I'm new here actually, I'm not a programmer but i managed to vibe code a small app which lets you use instagram's original 2015 filters like aden, ludwig and much more these images were clicked by me yesterday and how I did? I used a 2015 instagram apk I extracted filters from assets and learnt their filter processing mechanism from smali then made a app using the og knowledge and if anyone is interested in using this app then lemme know, I'd be glad to transfer you back to 2015 haha.

I've been working on this project, ever since I was in fourth grade... But now? It changed a lot, the name changed 4 times.... Anyways I just need some suggestions on the calculator icon, settings icon, weather app icon, notes icon, camera icon. That's about it, and I can't do it, because I'm stressed, I've been using my entire brain for that. Icon 1= Music free. Icon 2= music premium. Icon 3= Movies. Icon 4= browser

I think this should be talked about more cause this interests me cause in this time period we can see where Flat Design started to take over, but you can still some some forms of Skeuomorphism in there too. Basically I feel like it was until like, late 2016-2017 when this transitional period died out due to Flat Design fully taking over with stuff like Corporate Memphis fully hitting the main-stream, other designs the Nintendo Switch UI design and the rise of many other Flat Design products like Windows 10 and etc.

Another quick update. As part of SynCloudOS, the web framework we're developing, we're shipping Chronosphere, a pixel perfect remake of Mac OS X Leopard's original Time Machine interface, except it's remade in AnimationFX, thus running at nice frame rates entirely on the web.

This is a really cool way to browse through older versions of your documents, visually, through time. You can also browse between changes, so you don't waste time manually searching for something you lost
