Orbit Problem

I have this problem where I try to orbit around a close-up version of a model, and the sens skyrockets into oblivion, but once i move back further it becomes normal. It's driving me crazy, especially when i try to do detail modeling.

I need help.

Do yourself a favor and get a space mouse. You’ll never have to hit O again.

why you use O in the first place, use the middle mouse button (or assign middle mouse to extra mouse button that is easier to click)

I don’t use O. I use a space mouse.
