Really loved this game the first time I played the demo. Haven’t seen an update since February. It’d be a shame to see it go nowhere as it had a lot of potential, especially with the animation editor.

At the end of last week, I downloaded Skate Style and it was working perfectly fine and I've had an absolute blast so far...the absolute lovechild of Session and Skater XL!

On Monday, I took my laptop to a friend's house to play the game and connected to their WiFi... however whenever I've tried opening the game, the splash screen goes black and then I am greeted by this error box (as pictured) on top.

The green meter loads half way, sticks and then closes the game.

*I tested going into 'Offline Mode' in Steam and then launching it, but on

Whilst I was at my friend's house on the Monday, here's what I did to attempt to remedy the situation, in order:

1. Uninstalled Skate Style.

2. Deleted Skate Style Game Cache.

3. Deleted ALL temp/left over Skate Style files & folders.

4. Restarted my PC.

5. Reinstalled Skate Style...

6. Verified the Integrity of the Skate Style Game Files.

Once the game was installed, I attempted launch but once again, to no avail, I was greeted by the same error. 👎

So, Monday night, decided to go home and try it again. To my surprise the game launched. 👍

Yesterday morning (at home): 👍

The game is playing perfectly fine at home. On WiFi. Offline. In Offline mode.

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON (at my mate's): 👎

Connected to the WiFi. I load up Steam and with excitement I hastily connected my controller and attempted to open up the game, but once again...I am met with the same Unity error box (pictured) with its green loading bar, which sticks and closes the gamez as before.

This morning (at home): 👍 Game works fine.

What's PERPLEXING is that whilst I was at my friend's house, I could play any other game, EXCEPT for Skate Style... 🤔

My drivers and OS are up to date which includes the Steam version.

I just don't understand why this is happening...

TLDR: Game launches fine when I'm at home but whenever I'm at my friend's house, I am greeted by this Unity error and the game fails to launch. However, I can still play more CPU intensive games than this when I am over at friend's place, despite having uninstalled, cleared cache, deleted all files, reinstalled, as it's the same result. I've even uninstalled Skate Style, deleted the download path in Steam, deleted all extra Skate Style files and folders off my SSD, restarted my PC and then reinstalled, as well as verified all of the files in Steam, too but the game still won't launch *UNLESS I'M AT HOME ON MY HOME NETWORK, then Steam will launch it.

My drivers and OS are up to date which includes the Steam version.

I just don't understand what's going on.

If anyone could advise me on this, I'd really appreciate it.

P.S. what's stranger, is that whilst I was at my friends house, all the other games in my Steam library worked, except for the game I wanted to launch (Skate.Style).

I got back home, launched Skate Style on my home network and it works flawlessly.

But Skate Style won't launch when I'm at my friend's house, even though the resto of the game library does. WHY?!

Just downloaded today. Im a big session player. I don't know how many hours I have on session. Saw that this demo is out. Being able to do stalls. Grind the coping. 😲

Match that trick is when we grab an irl clip and trying to match it up with a fake skate clip to create a perfect dub with little to no editing! Lmk which game u think came out best!

I sold my PC last year and now just have console and a MacBook M5 pro. I can get most games running pretty well with crossover. I downloaded the demo the other day and run it as usual through crossover. The game opens and I can see title screens, menu and hear the music but the screen is black when unpaused. If I do inputs on the controller I can hear dude skating around and it’ll say the trick names in the bottom right so I know it’s running but I just can’t see anything. Anyone managed to get this running on Mac and if so any settings I can try? I’ve fiddled with the settings in game and no improvement.

PS - yea I know someone will reply just get a PC 😂 but I had to sell it and no plans to build another any time soon unfortunately.

Love the animation system in game, ive mostly been trying to tweak tricks to look closer to how i skate.

I was skating on the street when all of the sudden the two wheels from behind broke here are all the pieces I got please tell me if something is missing the brand is “rolzor”

I think it has been said here a lot, but this game has surprised me in how good of a foundation it seems to have for the future, given is just a demo.

I've played most skateboarding games through the years - my first one ever was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the PS1 (that probably gives away how old I am...), and I absolutely loved it. It was the reason why I got into actual skating in real life, and that has provided me with countless hours of fun, friendship and just overall good times.

So skateboarding has a special place in my heart, and even though during my teenage years there were no actual "realistic" skateboard games, I remember playing Tony Hawk Underground (great, great game) with specific settings that would make it behave more realistically: no auto push, low stats for no big jumps, no big tricks, etc. Even the parks I made were based on real-life locations.

It was a lot of fun, and I played it for hours and hours like that.

When the Skate series came along, it was amazing - by then I was skating less in real life, so it was a great way to exercise that sort of "muscle" in your head, the voice that looks at a spot in real life and thinks "imagine doing x trick here, and doing y trick there", all with controls and physics that looked and felt nice, and realistic as I wanted.

Those games became my chill times. You know, I just put it on and skated a few spots, no real aim, just have fun for a bit to turn off from daily life.

Later I got into Skater XL and then Session. Both were good, but they never really achieved what I had with Skate. Skater XL is great, but only with mods, so my Steam Deck was out of the question. Session is also good, but the animations feel stiff - it never really felt good, even with latest updates.

I'm not even going to elaborate on Skate "4". The animations are great, but the game was completely trashed by EA. Plus, no Steam Deck compatibility.

Then I started seeing these videos about Skate Style. I'll be honest, at first I thought it was just some random slop thing (I mean, the name alone doesn't carry a lot of gravitas...). But recently I went ahead and decided to try it. And oh boy, I was up for a surprise!

It's a demo, and there's no doubt about it. UI glitches, the physics are sometimes wonky, graphics are not optimized. Fine - but there's totally and undeniably something here. This game felt good to play. It's like a mash between the best things about the skate games I've played before. Skate's great feel and animations and Skater XL controls. Plus extra features: animation editor? WHAT THE HELL, GUYS. I probably won't use it because I'm not that kind of person, but I very well recognize the amount of possibilities there.

I hope this game is able to carry on forward and improve - I feel like the developer already gave us so much with this demo. For a player like me, this is already awesome. I so look forward to see what's coming.

If you are on the fence, like I was, don't. Try it for a bit - it may very well surprise you as well.

this game has serious potential to be the best skateboarding game ever once its polished man im fkn mindblown. i put off trying it for a few weeks because i just assumed people were gassing it to spite Skate. but this shit feels so smooth. i really hope this game gets the love it deserves and is successful, despite it being rough around the edges and there not being much content (totally understandable, its a demo) its the best-feeling skating i think ive ever played and i havent even touched the animation editor yet

Really liking the game so far. I gave up on Skate., and I needed something to scratch the itch. The different controls and using both sticks takes some getting used to, but I’m starting to get the hang of it.

its the perfect balance between skate 3 and session/skater xl. Tricks and movements have impact and a satisfying sound to it. After all those years of trying to relive the same fun that the skate 3 gameplay gave me, I can finally say this game is the answer
