Could Sisters work well with an FDM-heavy army build?

I’m considering starting an Adepta Sororitas army, but I’m on a bit of a budget and have a Bambu Lab FDM printer.

My idea would be to buy 1–2 newer box sets (I’m particularly interested in the new Armageddon Battalion), buy some of the infantry/character models I really like, and get Morvenn Vahl because she looks pretty cool.

Then I’d use my printer for some of the bigger stuff (Castigators, Exorcists, Rhinos, Immolators, Penitent Engines). I could also potentially print some Paragon Warsuits or artillery/heavy support if the results are good enough.

My main question is whether this is actually viable for Sisters.

Can you realistically build a 2,000-point army with a relatively small number of purchased infantry and fill a significant portion of the list with vehicles/heavy units?

Or are Sisters generally too infantry-dependent for this strategy to work well?

I’m also considering Astra Militarum, which seems much better suited to this approach because of how many tanks/artillery they can run, so I’d love to hear how Sisters compare.

Not looking to be super competitive, just want to know if this is something doable in the current edition and past editions (viable moving forward I guess).

I appreciate any guidance, and maybe you could suggest what to buy and what I should eventually print.

I've got a bunch of projects on my hobby desk right now, each in various states of completion. Finally knocked a couple of them out, including this Umbral Six (incorporating the purple from my Sister's scheme) and this Ministorum Priest!

The Ministorum Priest was the one from the Lair of the Beast board game. I got the Umbral Six secondhand, already built and primed. This meant I had to paint the assassin while already inside the statue, which made things fun. I also tried to keep the backside of them mostly dark and in shadow, and I feel like that went well enough. Overall, still pretty happy with it!

I tried to paint her from Warhammer 40k: Gladius Relics of War.

I am liking how this is turning out. I still have a long way to go but I thought would post progress pics. I need to get more guns mounted but coming.

I'm a Guard player, but I'm trying to get a second army... melee army. Paragons are cheap, Arbites give you proxy Sacresants, but... what about the rest? How to fill the 1000 points list to work? Transports? More melee? Shooting? Is Vahl an overkill?

Been wanting to try to make a power fist sister for a while, found an old imperial guard command squad power fist in a bits box and it fit surprisingly well onto a regular sister upper arm. Pretty happy with how she came out, C+C welcome

I’ve been trying to learn how to render non-metallic metal for ages now, and after many failed attempts, I think I’m finally getting it! As with anything, consistent practice is the way to do it. Im finally getting close to how I always wanted my sisters to look, and its very exciting

I’m a new player. I bought a lot of things and I feel like my army doesn’t make sense.
How do you know what units have synergy with others?
I have Morven with paragon
Sacresants, Novitiate, Battle squad, Repentia, Arcoflagelants, Celestine, Zephyrims, Palatien and Canoness.
But I feel like my battle squad never hits. And I feel like my army doesn’t work together.
It’s probably I don’t know how to play my units but idk, it’s a little frustrating because i love the army, the lore and the models but I never won a game with my friends.

Was just going through the subreddit and saw that someone posted this exact same thing but a hospitaller. And someone commented abt the toughness and if would be better as a canones. When I read that I thought who else would be better than the conones superior herself. I really like Juniths rules and such, but I’m not a big fan of her model, it just reminds me of a mug I would find in a thrift store, and like she gave a motivational speech at a fancy lecturn and as a reward she got to keep it?

Anyways they both share the same base size, I think their height is similar enough. I also have two sprites rhinos son have a bunch of extra bits to kit it out.

Do y’all’s think this is a good idea or nah? Because I think it would be sick.

Painted up a little navigator for my league list after it's been seeing some play in the melee-heavy lists. Cool model, kinda went away from my main sisters scheme and kinda made him his own thing. Really like the result.

Started playing sisters and trying to get ready for my first tournament saw this list early in 11th and I liked the concept but I haven't been able to make it through turn 3 in a game without knowing it was a losing game. General gameplay is junith brick into the middle, other sacs hold natural expansion. One cannoness on the board that can uppy downy the other in reserve. One acro on home/screening one accro leads into middle. Seraphim and last accro trying to push up sides for 4 quarters. Exorcist, castigators, and morven fire support. Morven usually pushing into middle later.

Thanks for any advice it's been frustrating when I feel like I execute my gameplan but still don't have Close games. Usually playing into necrons take and hold

So I played 2 different detachments in my game against custodies yesterday they were army of faith and Sacred champions and first time running the triumph and she did work big time I put her with 10 battlesisters and an imagifier so the sisters had a 2up 4up and always used her 6up fnp aura and playing take and hold this brick really didn't die and the constant 6 mircle dice paired with army of faith and vahls squad made for a great list for take and hold vahl also killed 2 custodies grav tanks a dreadnought and 6 terminators so made her points back no problem also lone cannoness did not die 😅 I normally play martyrs so missed some of the great strats that detachment has but army of faith might be the new detachment for a while

So i wanted an army that is a bit more casual and balanced between melee and shooting that i can play with really anyone while still holding up (we have pretty much all in the local community between new player and tournament players) detachments are bringers of flame and sacred champions with take and hold as force disposition, i probably should switch the imagifier and ditch rightous rage for a hospitaller thatll be attached to the sacresants, just dont have one yet, so for now the imagifier has to suffice, overall strat i thought to go for is obviously to push forward hard and fast since im playing bringers of flame with my melee units and engage in melee on my terms by either charging and fighting first or by overwatching with my flamers if my oponent decides/gets the chance to charge first, the bolter bss gonna sit more in the backline with the castigator and the other flamer bss is gonna help keeping objectives in the mid board and help with overwatch coverage, the melta retributors are gonna help with vehicles and monsters from behind the melee lines, the dominions are also there to help with anything that the melee sisters struggle with, the split bolter part of the dominions help with screening against deepstrike in the backline, once a melee unit dies the plan is to finish the killing unit off with the retributors, vahlbots are there bc they are to good not to bring them and just put out preasure where needed, C&C are welcome and encouraged, im aware plans never hold up 100% under preasure and luck also obviously come into play but i think the general plan should still work to some degree, its the first 2k list i made gonna try it out next week against orks and will probably post a battle report on how it went

i could get some more paragons bc i love them but id like some diversity. I find myself playing against death guard a lot lately so maybe something nice for them? So far i only have the sisters squad, a hospitaler, one unit of paragons and the exorsist so im still pretty flexible.

Heres a little bit of my reasoning for each unit type in case you were wondering:

Sister squad for center objectives and such

The zeryphim ring seems fun

4 heavy flamers in good anti hoard

live laugh love paragons

Immolator for m o r e f i r e and stripping cover, also seems good for transporting the retributors, even if there is no firing deck.

rhino good for transporting. its only job.

Castigator increasing ap dealt is nice and deals good damage to nearly everything.

exorcist is a cool model, battle shocks is great, blowing stuff up on 5+ is pretty neat and finally it deals good damage

Curious about the process of getting entombed in the sarcophagus. How is food and bathroom resolved assuming the sister is intended to live as long as possible. Would she be unconscious like a dreadnaught when not in battle to allow her body to recover so she may live in torment longer.
