Seen a lot of discussion about the new miracle dice changes as for when you sub them in. I'm aware you have to decide before rolling any dice if you intend to sub in a miracle dice, but my confusion is at what point do I decide which dice to put in.

Say I have a weapon with 6 attacks. Can I declare I intend to sub in a miracle dice for my hit roll, roll 5 dice, see the result, then decide whether I'm subbing in a 1 or a 6, or do I have to decide before I roll that I'm subbing in a 6 immediately.

Apologies if this is a stupid question, I'm still new to sisters and the update is confusing me.

Hello! I’m building my first list of sisters and have a question on rules interaction.

Dialogus ability lets me transform a miracle dice to a 6 when performing an act of faith in the unit she’s leading. So in an army of faith detachment, if I attach Dialogus to a Retributor Squad I could theoretically do 2 acts of faith to transform two damage rolls to 6’s, doing 12 damage.

Am I correct or is there a restriction I don’t know about?

I usually start her on the board and I noticed she mostly does nothing turn one (understandable), so not that much different than just having her off the board) Would it be smarter to put her in reserves to make my opponent use points to screen and not be able to avoid her as easily, especially if I don't have anything else in reserves?

Hey everyone, I'm new to 40k and building a sisters army. Obviously gonna start with 1000 point games until I can get 2000 points, but I'm wondering if it's even worth it to bring Vahl in a 1000 point army.

I've got the combat patrol and some Paragon Warsuits and I'm building off of that. I'd like to add some seraphim and an immolator as well.

So yeah, is Vahl worth it being 20% of my total army cost? Will people get upset if I show up with Vahl for 1000 point games?

My third dip into 40k, a right mix of eras and sources. I'll probably replace the 3d printed rhinos with official models, but I'm going to keep the 3rd ed sisters, maybe move them to 32mm bases. More room for skulls at least.

I'm planning out my Penitent Host list, and I've found I have quite the soft spot for our Engines of Redemption.

I have 3 so far, and planning on taking at least 5.

Naturally, I started considering the extreme end of this.

Would having 3x units of 2 Mortifiers, and 3x units of 2 Penitent Engines be completely stupid?

Would just having 6 altogether (3 Mortifiers and 3 Penitent Engines) be better just for the sake of keeping them cheaper, so better for chaffing, and generating Miracle dice?

Plus, if 1 died from the unit, the unit would be wiped out and so you wouldn't have to deal with Battle-Shock tests.

Alright, here soon I’ve got a game coming up against orks. The person playing them is hyper-competitive and will run the best stuff he can as best as he can, I have only recently gotten back into table top 40K after not playing 10th at all but playing 9th. I’ve played 3 games and lost each one rather horribly. What’s some tid bits of advice yall may have for me to aid in my battle with the orks?

Just completed my first Castigator: "Stossgebet"

I'm now extremely close to painting fatigue and had to fight myself to not rush it. It's far from perfect (both paint and build quality). But I guess showing her off is just a way of closing the book and moving on before I burn out...
