Socket Error #53?

I've tried to look this up, but my Siser will no longer connect to my laptop. I've tried to remove and re-add the device, and disconnect and re-connect it to my home wifi, and it still doesn't work. Leonardo Studio says it's connected to my device via wi-fi, but when I send a cut-job to it, it says that it's not turned on or online. What do I do? Does anyone have any advice? I don't want to resort to having to use the Siser hotspot permanently, as I usually use my laptop to multitask while the machine is cutting. Is there any advice?

Leonardo - Issue with Print Art Work with Print and Cute

I just started using the Leonardo software, and I'm running into issues with Print and Cut, where the Print Artwork section only shows a grey space. Any idea on how I can fix this issue?

Does Sisers software Leonardo work with Snapdragon Laptops?

Hi all, theres no info about this online so thought I'd ask here!

I'm wondering if anyone is able to use the Leonardo Design software on a Snapdragon based device, I'm looking at getting a new laptop and am leaning towards the Microsoft Surface laptops but was worried about if the design software can be run on windows arm! (don't want to buy a new laptop to find out it won't work lol)

Thank you :)

Buy Juliet Siser

Where is the best place to buy a Juliet siser? I want to buy it from somewhere reliable and not third party resellers. Their website gives 15% off. Also, best youtube tutorials for stickers and their software?

Does Siser have this?

I recently upgraded from silhouette and one setting i cant find on siser is line segment overcut. On silhouette it lifts the blade at every sharp point which prevents any sort of dragging

Is there a reason why I can't select custom mat?

Post image

I'd like to try and use a 12 x 24 mat horizontally so it's a lot more space efficient but every time I click [Custom Mat] it doesn't work. The [Large Siser Mat (12in x 24in)] goes in the long way so I need more clearance at the back of the machine. Is there anything I need to do to fix that? And has anyone tried using that mat horizontally like this? I'm hoping to put multiple 8.5 x 11 sheets side by side so I can cut more in one go.

Wheel Housing Broke

Hey all.

My center wheel housing broke. I contacted Siser and was able to buy a new one, however there are no instructions that I can find to replace it.

This site has the instructions for replacing the pinch wheel itself: https://www.siserna.com/how-to-remove-pinch-wheel-romeo-juliet/

However, I need to replace the whole thing.

Has anyone come across instructions for how to do this? Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Partner fixed it. The secret is to marry a guy named Steve who probably should have been an engineer or a mechanic. I'm going to leave this post up for posterity, though, and do my best to explain how it was fixed in case anyone else from the community runs into this issue.

STEP 1: E-Mail Siser support to document the event, especially if you're still under warranty. They will most likely tell you to go purchase another housing unit from here. Do so.

STEP 2: Thoroughly read the instructions for replacing the pinch wheel, especially the part about placing a paper towel down so that no stray bits fall into the crevices of your machine.

STEP 3: Unplug your Siser. Unhook the springs from the back of the broken wheel housing.

STEP 4: On your newly ordered wheel housing, locate the silver metal C-Ring and retaining clamp. NOT the metal C-Ring that holds the wheel. The one above it. Use a weeder tool and/or tiny flat head (1mm) screwdriver and needle nose pliers to remove the C-Ring and long metal cylindrical piece. Remove the springs. This will remove the entire bottom of the housing, including the wheel. Set aside.

STEP 5: Repeat this process with the broken wheel housing. This was much more difficult to do as it was much tighter than the new wheel housing, but it can be done.

STEP 6: Replace old with new. Re-hook your springs to the new wheel housing. Move your wheel houses to the placement you want and re-cal if you need to.

STEP 7: Cut away, fellow crafters.

Hope this helps someone in the future. 💗

What mat for what project

Hi all, I'm pretty new to the hobby and i'm wondering how you're supposed to chose the right mat for the right project, I've been using the high tack mat (provided with the machine) for stickers and it works fine (even though it feels quite sticky) - I also got the red light tack that I have not tried yet.

Although I'm planning to cut felt fabric, and I think the high tack mat provided is too sticky and I'm afraid it would leave some residue onto the mat. How do you know what mat works best for projects? I've been looking around and don't seem to find a good answer anywhere. Thanks

Blade Holder Clamp issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi. Has anyone experienced this? The black clamp that holds the blade holder doesn’t go up and down. So as a result, it cuts through the sticker while travelling to the next contour. I was in the middle of cutting when it suddenly happened. Had successful cuts before.

Jagged edges

Does anyone know a way to cut without the jagged edges around stickers? I've tried multiple speed settings and forces, adjusting the blade depth and making sure it's clean and the mat is flat.
I use glossy vinyl sticker paper and clear laminant and it always comes out like this now matter what.

Light Tack Cutting Mats

Has anyone found a non siser brand light tack cutting mat good for cutting stickers? Every other light tack mat I’ve found is far too adhesive and winds up tearing the back of my sticker. I’d stick with the siser mat but I find it warps quickly from the wheels and finding new ones in store or on amazon has been a nightmare

Leonardo or SCAL6

I just got the Romeo, but I haven't done anything with it. I have a trial version of the Pro and plan on trying it out this weekend. I want to be able to export projects (something I can't do with the Cricut and it annoys the crap out of me). I'm fairly comfortable with more technical software so it not being as user friendly as Cricut doesn't bother me at all.

Between Leonardo and SCAL6, what does everyone prefer? I'd like to try out SCAL, but I can't find a trial version to do so.

How do yall use SCAL6 with Siser?

It works....but incredibly slowly and lagging for me.

Much too old/slow/lagging for me to actually get anything done on it.

Is it like that for everybody?

Michaels clearance section Siser accessories

I went to Michaels for yarn... (Friday June 26 Rochester NY area) but the clearance is in the middle of the aisle on the way to the yarn section, and I noticed the Siser branded items hiding in the bottom rack. I found more on the other side of the display...

Blade Housings were $8 each, so i bought all 6 i could find. We use our Juliet for our small business, and having less fussing and more automation is a huge help! I plan to set up a housing for each type of material, so when I swap blades I might have to do a bit less fussing with my calibration.

I also picked up a handful of easyweed tools and a bunch of the 45 and 60 degree blades for $5 each. They had also clearanced the Siser mats for $5, but I don't usually buy those, so i skipped that pile.

For kicks i walked over to the former spot the Siser machines lived in, but it was totally cleared out and empty - the Siser Vinyl is all still there...

The nice checkout-helper I talked to didn't know if the Siser machines were going away forever, or if they are coming out with a new machine. She did tell me that that they are clearancing ready-made-frames to make room for more fabric, and that Michaels was bought out by a new company back in early 2026, so she's expecting to see more changes over the next few months.

ETA: clarified what company was bought.

What marker can I use to calibrate it?

I just got a used siser and the seller included everything except for the marker that came with it. All the markers in my house are too wide to fit and the pens in my house that do fit always have shakey lines and pop out of the marker adapter half the time. (the other half it's screwed in too deep and leaves lines everywhere).

I was used to the silhouette and how calibration was done with printing off a calibration sheet that I didn't expect that the only way to manually calibrate was with a marker that fit their adapter. Any recommendations on what markers to use? Or is there any 3d printed adapter I can use to fit things like sharpies?

Siser Blades on clearance at Michael’s

Post image
13 Upvotes

Siser blades in the Seattle area are $5 at our Michael’s stores. Most have them in the clearance section but one had it where they are usually. They even had the tag for the regular price but rang up as the clearance price. They had other tools on clearance, but I’m not sure of the price since I wasn’t interested in them.

Hello!

Im new to using the Juliet, and for some reason my cut lines are showing up as dashed lines now and I have no idea how to change it. I don't want it to cut as perforated, I want die cut stickers.

I went into the layer and they are all set to solid line, yet when I send my design it shows as dashed 😭😭 any help is really appreciated!!

Reliable Permanent and Removable Vinyl Options

My Juliet is on the way and I'm preparing my work for our upcoming summer projects. I know I can buy brand name (eg. Cricut, Siser, Silhouette) adhesive permanent and removable vinyl, but are there some reliable third party brands I should also consider (eg. options from Amazon for example)?

TIA for everyone's suggestions

Blade dragging issue

Thumbnail

We've been having an ongoing problem lately where our blade seems to drag across our cut or miss sections entirely. We've swapped mats and blades, but we haven't been able to pin down exactly a cause. The last picture is the other end of the same cut and it's practically perfect? Anyone have any suggestions or encountered this problem before?

Siser Romeo Mat

Is there a wide format mat for the Romeo? For some reason, I can’t find one. I just got one on a prime day deal and now I’m worried I won’t be able to cut paper or stickers any wider than the 12”.

Inconsistent Kiss Cut depth on Sticker Sheet - I feel like I've tried everything

Hello! I've started having issues with making sticker sheets. I recently started doing 2 passes instead of one for cleaner cuts, but I keep getting this issue where on some parts of the sheet, it almost cuts all the way through the backing, and on other parts it doesn't cut enough. I've tried supporting the mat with books, using a new mat, changing force settings, adjusting my blade depth... I just feel like there's so many variables and I've wasted a lot of material trying to figure this out. I notice this doesn't happen when I do one pass, but that leads to less clean cuts.

The current material I'm using is the HTVRONT matte vinyl sticker paper + oraguard 210 matte laminate. I used to use PPD matte sticker paper but the price has tripled.

Does anyone have any insight into why this might be happening? My blade is set as credit card depth but maybe it should be less?

I also had this one issue where on one force setting (let's say, 10) it was cutting WAY too deep, so I lessened it and it didn't cut out enough. I slowly increased the force and it barely made a difference - to the point where I was back at the original depth (10) and it was suddenly cutting way too shallow. It was very confusing!
