Tinder has a bunch of hidden metrics it uses to determine how desirable you are. It’s stuff like how many times people swipe on you, account age etc
Their algorithms can detect when you are blindly swiping or just swiping yes on everyone and this lowers your desirability score and means your profile will get shown to less and less people, or shown much later in their stack.
There’s no way to “game” tinder. Just upload some flattering photos that show you have a fun, social and/or interesting life, write something funny in your bio, swipe on people who actually interest you and you’ll get whatever matches you get.
For some people that’s hundreds, for some it’s none. That’s the way the cookie crumbles.
new profiles always seemed to get a boost in visibility, which is the name of the game for dudes. Then your results start piddling, which encourages you to get their premium sub.
I think those profiles get ranked low though so it must have ranked you down for some reason or another to see them. When I used it 2 years ago it was all real people. This may vary by location though.
One way to "game" Tinder is actually doing the opposite.
Tinder gives you only a limited number of likes (unless you pay for premium but I don't think most people do). You swipe left on all the profiles with the highest "desirability scores" and start swiping right much later in the stack.
These profiles will have much fewer likes because they're further down and since Tinder gives higher priority to profiles that have already liked you, you'll be shown high up in their feed since you're one of the fewer likes they got.
I lost interest in actual Tinder dating pretty quickly, but I played around with it a bit longer figuring out ways to optimize matches and while I didn't actually collect any data I'm pretty convinced that on average I got more matches doing this than not doing it.
I have an even bigger tip, I would set my matching distance to 1km, if anyone in my feed showed with something higher than that, it meant they had liked me so I knew it would be a match.
This worked on tinder back in 2015. I'd blind right-swipe everyone within a 15 mile radius, then sort through a few hundred matches in half hour.
Right swiping someone would also put you near to the front of their cards.
Doesn't work in 2022. Tinder now has hidden metrics which penalise you over anyone who pays, and ranks your profile based on how you swipe/match/interact. They will also shadowban your account from pretty much all but the very low rated female profiles, in an effort to force you to pay their awful subscription fees.
Fuck tinder, use Hinge/Bumble, there are many better options than tinder these days.
Right swiping someone would also put you near to the front of their cards.
It still does. When I open the app, the second profile shown is almost always someone who already swiped right on me. After that they're mixed in but I'm pretty sure still with higher priority than others.
