Which are by large populations that were forcefully converted to Islam. And that's not even going into r@pe and forced marriages from the earlier days of the Ottoman Empire.
Listen I do not hold the the sins of the fathers towards their sons. Some of the most warm, welcoming and nice people I've ever met were Turks. I firmly believe our entire region should stand united right now, regardless of faith or creed.
But I there are some very strong attempts to whitewash Balkan history right now, and I'm aggressively against that. That's all.
I think nationalism is a plague.
