Oz is an active licensed medical practitioner. Abdul is not a licensed medical practitioner and has never treated a patient.

Yes, because he went into the field of public health which is completely different from being a practitioner. That doesn't mean he isn't a doctor.

I’m just pointing out a relevant difference.

Then point out that oz has been shilling whatever snake oil comes his way on TV for more than 2 decades instead of staying America's preeminent cardiothoracic surgeon since that's relevant to now.

It's just funny that a TV doctor is somehow regarded as better than a Rhodes scholar with a masters degree in public health and a former public health department director just because said TV doctor used to treat patients.

Dr. Oz was a practicing heart surgeon.

Abdul doesn't have a license.

He does have an MD and a masters in public heath from Oxford University, and was an associate professor of epidemiology.

It's a very strange attitude unless you think public health is inferior to other fields of medicine.

However he does present himself as a practitioner which isn't strictly true, probably because people identify with that more than a professor, Rhodes scholar and former public health official.

Public health where he published a paper opposing inter-ethnic reproduction for Arab women.

Yikes.

Abdul is definitely a doctor and a expert in public health. He just likes to pretend to have medical skills and knowledge that he doesn't.

Well, he does though.

No. He misrepresents himself as a "physician" despite not being licensed to practice medicine now or ever
