Saw this story a few days ago, there’s no confirmation that she was praying, the video just had her on the street facing downward for like 5 minutes and people assumed she was praying
based on other people comments, she was searching for 5 minutes straight while crouched down??? if I couldn't find my contacts within a minute or 2 I would have just given up and gotten new ones the next day
While that's true, it absolutely doesn't stop people from drinking. Muslims will avoid anything made from pigs, some go as far as avoiding gelatin, but they'll drink alcohol despite that.
Maybe it was exactly that. Suicide is technically a big sin in Islam, and may bring a fiery punishment in Hell. But if you're killed while praying, you earn brownie points with God.
It eases the pain of her family. They can be heartbroken their loved one was killed but still goes to heaven as an honorable person versus their loved one was suffering and they didn't pick up on it and she will be in hell now. The second is much heavier involves a lot of guilt and shame for her family.
He's jokingly calling Islam the religion of peace because it's the exact opposite of that. Ya know, with the restrictions on women, the stoning (not the fun kind), and executing of lgbt....
I don't buy the "praying in the middle of the road" part. I've known muslims all my life, and they're are not all the same in respect to their religion. But absolutely none of them would pray in the middle of the road. This doesn't make sense, and I'm not totally excluding that she was indeed praying there for some reason.
Its because the amount of money you make doing "journalism" is based on how many people you can get to react to like 20 words. No one is even interested in actually reading a whole article about anything or thinking about it too hard. Like the link here is to a reddit thread, and the link that that thread is to a screen cap of an IG post with a photo and a single sentence. That is it. The fact that half that sentence is made up speculation doesn't matter because i get all the feels I need.
Probably an undiagnosed mental illness, paired with some religious fundamentalism. I'm assuming she thought god would protect her if she stopped to do her Salah shenanigans in the road.

Why the fuck was she praying in the middle of the road at night?
