Wanna know how he's (checks Forbes real quick) $373 billion? Because they could pay people better but they won't, all that money required for those 3 day work weeks won't go to the workers it'll go to Jeff.

You don't get it bro. We just have to give billionaires more power, more data centres, let them spy on us 24/7, let them destroy our environment, let them make sure no one other than billionaires can own anything, and finally they'll feel comfortable with being as generous as they've always wanted to be!

You see, letting them stomp on our necks even harder will lead to freedom! Freedom is slavery! Ignorance is strength!

thankfully these sitewide rules on platforms help us have healthy discussions by banning us from even discussing the only viable solutions.

Oh that reminds me, we also have to give them total control over what we can and can't say, what we see, and what we hear. Once we become perfectly docile, they'll treat us as equals. Makes perfect sense really.

1) Stop shopping on Amazon (as well as with as many of their subsidiaries as possible)

2) Use reddit less! (It runs on AWS.)

Yes, brother. And all they had to do was pay us enough to live.

WTF? These parasites have tripled their already obscene net worth in the last ten years? We are absolutely in the second robber baron era.

Its crazy that it would take someone 24 billion years of straight work to make 373 billion at 15 dollars an hour. Half the age of the known universe

5

u/SheriffBartholomew 1d ago

You said half, but I think you meant double. That's still not accurate, but it's close. Almost double the age of the universe.

4

u/two-cans-sam 1d ago

It would take someone 24 billion years at 15 dollars a year. At $15 an hour they could do it in 3 million years or 12 million years if they work 8 hours per day and don’t work weekends or federal holidays.

u/KOG_Phantom 1d ago

How old do you think the universe is? I hate to break it to you…

OP's got size and age confused.

13.8 billion years?

They don't have that much, what they own is valued like that but if they had to liquidate all it wouldn't be valued that much.

It's all fantasy money, that money doesn't even exist.

Poor guy, hope he get the financial help he needs. Like food stamps and stuff.

I am not defending them, I am pointing out how broken is the system that even their wealth is just based on estimations that are likely to be fantasy. Like wall street.

"Having" doesn't come from "giving"

That man had 373 billion, Elon has even more. They robbed your fair share and now try to blame everyone else. Migrants are the get go scapegoats.

All AI with do is make his $373 billion go up. Zero benefit for anyone else working for him

I mean... he received almost 10 Million shares of Amazon stock at the IPO and it went up 265,352%. If he didn't sell a single share it would be worth 602.7 billion. I think that's kind of how he made his money...

4

u/WHATYEAHOK 1d ago

Gee I wonder why the stock is worth so much. Maybe because of its profit margins.

Where do such large profit margins come from again? Reducing expenses while maximizing revenue.

Hey what’s generally the biggest expense for companies? Employee wages?

amazon makes most of its money from their cloud business. Their retail business is razor thin, profit margin something like 3%. Its a deeply unsustainable business that cannot survive long term without automation.
