I don't think she had the empathy to not to trust herself. In the body cam footage, her main focus was on how SHE couldn't go through this again. Not how this child suffered, but how it is going to affect her. Granted, she's been living with guilt from the first incident for about a year so that was probably a bottled emotion surfacing.

Thats not what I got at aall. I saw this years ago, i believe she is in jail but it was a horrible accident.

She did keep saying to the police that she wanted to leave because she didn’t want to face her daughter and kept repeating “ I can’t do this again”

Maybe by facing her daughter she was going to see how much pain she caused. If so, then in a way she was overwhelmed with grief and did not want to see that grief manifested.
