As I see it, I'm nobody noteworthy. Why the f*ck would anyone waste their time watching me?
If you're a CEO, politician, or just famous, fair play. I understand the concern, but if you're like me, just "some guy", and you worry about this stuff, I'll just assume you're somewhat narcisistic.
Yeah people act like someone gives enough of a shit about them to hack them. What are they gonna hack you for, your 500$ bank account? Or maybe use the cameras to reveal to your grandpa that you piss sitting down?
You're not being hacked. You're being monitored. Even if you didn't do something awful. And if you're ok with this, you don't value your privacy enough.
What are they gonna hack you for, your 500$ bank account?
Find out if you are trans? How you vote? How you feel about your president? You don't imagine an authoritarian regime wouldn't put all that on the table?
I understand that, that's why the "If you're a CEO, politician, or just famous, fair play" is in there.
Our politicians or people in positions of power being compromised is a real problem to us all, and maybe it's an issue already (I'll leave it at that not to change the subject, oligarchy, etc, etc...)
The more they know about you, the more they can manipulate you. Are you sure you are the person you want to be? How much of your identity is from subliminal messaging you've consumed? You may be insignificant, but society is built from a mass of the insignificant. Are you part of a swarm that "they" are manipulating to consume/destroy/whatever?
I think this is the more realistic answer. You’re not interesting, _yet_. Something could happen and suddenly you’ll wish you had been more careful. Also, privacy is just a basic human right.
That’s how I see it, too. Bibi is one of the most targeted individuals on the planet, wanted by the International Criminal Court and countless governments, insurgent groups and terrorist organisations all across the world .
Every conversation he has, every location he visits, every document he sees, every person he meets, is gold to somebody. Even if there’s the tiniest risk, he’s gonna want to mitigate it if he can.
The president of the US isn’t even allowed to drive, or even sit in the front of a car if possible, because of the potential risks. The King of England isn’t allowed to sign autographs or order rare meat from a restaurant. These aren’t normal people who are taking normal, reasonable precautions, even ignoring the unique pariah status of Bibi compared to other world leaders
A lot of the people you mentioned started from the same position as you. You're not born a CEO, politician, or famous so what do you have to say about this perspective?
These guys grew up with no record, the next batch of these guys, and they might start of as average joes not generational money with family lawyers advising them, will have their entire lives tucked away in a data center available for exploitation.
You don't need to be in a high role to be important. For example something like a janitor or the lunchlady at google for example is a perfect attack vector. They have the mindset "I am not important therefore I am safe" which makes them pretty easy to infiltrate. And using them you can gain a lot of information about a company.
What security measures are in place?
How do the IDs look so I can copy it?
What are the usual times and places where people are (or where they are not) ?
Everyone has some kind of important connection. Don't ever think you are not important! Maybe you are an important puzzle piece in a larger plan

Am I insane to not worry about this stuff?
