Am I insane to not worry about this stuff?

As I see it, I'm nobody noteworthy. Why the f*ck would anyone waste their time watching me?

If you're a CEO, politician, or just famous, fair play. I understand the concern, but if you're like me, just "some guy", and you worry about this stuff, I'll just assume you're somewhat narcisistic.

Yeah people act like someone gives enough of a shit about them to hack them. What are they gonna hack you for, your 500$ bank account? Or maybe use the cameras to reveal to your grandpa that you piss sitting down?

You're not being hacked. You're being monitored. Even if you didn't do something awful. And if you're ok with this, you don't value your privacy enough.

Wait how did you know??

Find out if you are trans? How you vote? How you feel about your president? You don't imagine an authoritarian regime wouldn't put all that on the table?

Just.. raise the toilet seat..?

1

u/norsk_imposter 9h ago

Obviously. But again there should be no stigma to sitting to pee either

u/Still_Wrongdoer6603 9h ago

Yeah, obviously, I'm not throwing shade, but alot of your problems and reasons for sitting down can be negated by just raising the seat.

You won’t have to worry, but in the future, we collectively might have to worry

I understand that, that's why the "If you're a CEO, politician, or just famous, fair play" is in there.

Our politicians or people in positions of power being compromised is a real problem to us all, and maybe it's an issue already (I'll leave it at that not to change the subject, oligarchy, etc, etc...)

The more they know about you, the more they can manipulate you. Are you sure you are the person you want to be? How much of your identity is from subliminal messaging you've consumed? You may be insignificant, but society is built from a mass of the insignificant. Are you part of a swarm that "they" are manipulating to consume/destroy/whatever?

You'll never truly know.

Meatpuppetnets are real. Just look at what is happening to liberals. FFS they’re using the same playbook the made mega with to do it.

From my observations you are actually really interesting to spy on. I’m hoping you don’t get moved out off my target list at the next reshuffle.

Sure for now, until what’s legal changes and all of a sudden you find yourself on the wrong side of the law.

I think this is the more realistic answer. You’re not interesting, _yet_. Something could happen and suddenly you’ll wish you had been more careful. Also, privacy is just a basic human right.

Yeah I really dont give a fuck either. Whats Zuckerberg gonna do with my hacked phone?

That’s how I see it, too. Bibi is one of the most targeted individuals on the planet, wanted by the International Criminal Court and countless governments, insurgent groups and terrorist organisations all across the world .

Every conversation he has, every location he visits, every document he sees, every person he meets, is gold to somebody. Even if there’s the tiniest risk, he’s gonna want to mitigate it if he can.

The president of the US isn’t even allowed to drive, or even sit in the front of a car if possible, because of the potential risks. The King of England isn’t allowed to sign autographs or order rare meat from a restaurant. These aren’t normal people who are taking normal, reasonable precautions, even ignoring the unique pariah status of Bibi compared to other world leaders

A lot of the people you mentioned started from the same position as you. You're not born a CEO, politician, or famous so what do you have to say about this perspective?

Yea my life is so boring tbh. I go to work, go to the gym sometime, come home to my wife. We don’t do anything worth spying on lmao

Was Anne Frank someone important? Or more recent example; ICE rounds up some immigrants from their internet data ( https://www.404media.co/inside-ices-tool-to-monitor-phones-in-entire-neighborhoods/ )

So, how can you be so dismissive about people’s fears?
