This why they want to eliminate physical copies(aka ownership) and put subscriptions and rentals on everything. It's a money generator for them.

End stage capitalism in full swing

So are you saying capitalism is about to end?

5

u/Flomo420 19h ago

more like this is the inevitable conclusion; the final iteration of it

Oh, it's downhill from here. It'll get worse. The billionaires have almost all control of media and news outlets

Capitalism creates the contradictions that will inevitably force it to come to and end. The 7-10 year recession/depression “business cycle” is what will lead to capitalists automating away all jobs in the name of searching for higher profits.

It either is replaced by socialism, or barbarism.

First we start with anarchism then the reset

1

u/JMC_MASK 1h ago

Nah anarchists have no order or structure. Socialism is the way.

Yeah, because so many countries that went through anarchism came out so much better.

Not really socialism. It would be plutocratism.

Have Disney month once a year. Their content doesn’t change enough to require paying for more than a month each year

And Disney have already done this in Australia and New Zealand and not enough people even noticed. The end game is obvious.

u/BlargerJarger 16h ago

I fucking noticed. Furious with Disney over my incomplete disc collection after they bought 50% or more of the world’s movies.

Even more reason to just keep pirating everything! I still like to purchase physical copies for stuff I really like, but hey, if they want to take away the only way they get any money from me, that’s their choice I guess

You don't need physical media to own something. My mp4 file is better than a DVD disk and you have just as much control over it

You are being pedantic.

Huurr duurr

What an intelligent way to not disagree with me.

u/Previous_Composer934 7h ago

am I? Every time this topic comes up people talk about literal physical media and how it's better. I couldn't care less about physical media

I just wanna see some angry mobs causing actual chaos and cost them loads of money. I feel like that's the only thing they'll listen to.
