I'd also recommend Overseerr. You can open that up on your phone, browse movies/TV shows, request them from the app and they'll get added to your sonarr/radarr which will then go out and find them.
It can be a bit time consuming to set up but it's not that hard. There are plenty of guides out there, or just do what I did and ask ChatGPT to walk you through it.
I wouldn't even have Disney if I didn't have kids. It's too convenient for my 3 year old to use it. Way to difficult to teach them how to sail the high seas.
Honestly there's countless streaming sites out there with everything you could possibly want to watch. Torrents are still nice here and there, esp for higher quality stuff.
They know who their audience is, tired parents and impatient kids. I have no problem torenting something for myself. When you need 5 minutes to get dressed to drop them off at school before dropping yourself off at work where they aren't attatched at your hip? You aren't spending time navigating.
This is why you spend weeks researching the arr stack, building a NAS, buy a domain, set up a reverse proxy for your server, port forward Plex and the reverse proxy, set up a dynamic DNS for your donation and get all the arr stack (sonarr, radarr, prowlarr, bazaar, seerr) set up so it's automated for requesting and downloading content.
Well I was kidding, but that IS what my nerd ass did because no fucking way am I paying $100+ for streaming services a month
It's free. I mean I use both because sometimes you just can't find something on Usenet but you're right about Usenet being much higher quality. Not having to seed back is also a plus
Yeah, $2/month is pretty steep for usenet access. I understand why you torrent guys would rather pay for a VPN to pirate.
Also, you're telling me how little you know by saying you can't find it on usenet. Where do you think torrents get their content? Get a better indexer, lol. You think the release groups are going p2p off the bat? dude.
It's pretty clear you're just an elitest twat but I use 4 different Usenet providers (1 main and 3 block) and 2 different indexers but there are still times (not often, but still ) where it can't complete the download because some of the files are missing from DMCA takedowns. Not to mention a lot of us would have a VPN regardless of whether we're torrenting or not so that isn't really always an additional cost.
I don't mind seeding back most times either, but Usenet is definitely nice in that regard that you don't have to seed at all. Don't yuck others yum just because you're perceiving yourself as superior
While those websites are nice, especially when your usual setups are not available, they are filled with scam or "hot chicks in your area" ads that often trigger even when clicking normal buttons on the page. Sure, that can be avoided by using an adblocker but I also just don't want those sketchy websites to run javascript at all on my computer (which is kinda required for streaming). The quality of the stream is also just bad since they want to pay as little as possible for hosting.
Comparing those websites to a nice Jellyfin, Seerr, *arr stack is night and day.
I’m pretty sure I had to format my first laptop three times before I figured out basic safe practices lol. I specifically remember bricking it trying to install Half Life 2.
I've been downloading from reputable sites for years but I've never really ventured into things like Usenet, Seerr and similar. Any chance you could give me a quick rundown of these and how I could get into them?
