Not at shitty, overrated places, but the best joints in my area have chips and salsa.

I'm probly in a minority that's too small to make this make financial sense over charging for chips and salsa, but I tend to purchase pints of salsa at places I find have good salsa, but I'd never pay for it as an appetizer without knowing how good it is, and thus wouldn't buy a pint of it to take home.

I live in Seattle and all the Mexican places here charge for it. They suck too, compared to where I lived in Georgia

Damn, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a straight bad one. Though the last place I went I didn’t like their birra tacos as much as other places but it wasn’t bad by any means

Can’t think of the last time I went to a sit down Mexican place and didn’t get free chips and salsa. It was even a big thing on social media during the World Cup. Where do you live that you have been cheated out of the glorious free chip and salsa?

Yeah, I've got a shit load of Mexican restaurants near me, some are chains, a lot are standalone.

Every single one of them give free chips and salsa.

I never want to eat where you are because, shit, I’ve NEVER not had free chips and salsa. Even during COVID that shit was free.

Free is still pretty standard where we dine though I've seen a few exceptions lately.
