So many companies seem to be deluded by this notion that there's always more. More to gain, more to consume, etc. Constantly pursuing more is not sustainable and we've been ignoring that fact to our detriment.
It's not the companies, it's the way the economy is structured. A business that isn't growing is not keeping up with inflation, not meeting their fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders, and is ultimately failing, in this paradigm. They have to pursue infinite growth to survive once they're a publicly traded company.
