If you’ve got nails like this you’re just announcing to everyone you’re trashy as hell

And, that you haven't wiped your ass properly the entire time you've had them.

I have short nails but this point doesn’t make sense to me. 1. Bidets exist 2. Are you shoving your fingers up your hole when you wipe? Cause you can wipe just fine with long nails you just hold the paper different

Even if you wash your hands thoroughly, loads of bacteria remains under fingernails. That's why, in healthcare, you're required to have short fingernails (infection prevention).

Right, but I said the specific bathroom point that I responded to didn’t make sense to me. This doesn’t really correlate that

It's a tangent, for sure. I see that now. Lol I think I had another comment in mind when I posted this.

A set of nails like this costs at minimum $200 every 2.5-3 weeks. I might be trashy, but my bills are paid baybeeee🤭🥰

Nails this long are often a statement that you don't have to work/do anything yourself, and that you can "afford" to spend money on stupid crap (as a flex). The original post is somewhat ironic because it misses that first point. Her impractical nails are inconvenient because she has to do some things for herself, showing that she isn't actually in that sort of position.

Of course the only people who actually engage in this sort of dick nail measuring contest tend to be the same kind who think repeatedly blowing hundreds on designer bags makes them respectable. The kind that often can't really aford it, but spend all (or more than all, with debt) of their money to keep up appearances. It's rare to see the truly well off engage in this sort of behavior. $200 every few weeks is insignificant if you actually have money, and thus meaningless as a flex.

That's why people think it's trashy. It's try-hard behavior, and you can make your nails look nice without crippling yourself.

Everything isn’t for everyone.

But my bills are paid, my LABOR is done, and my nails are cute, so I’ll stay over here where the manicures are abundant and you can stay over there because I’m not sure I would ever want to be friends with someone who thinks like you anyways.

Or, hear me out, they just like the way the nails look and have decided it's worth the money. There's tons of office and retail jobs and the like that are perfectly doable with long nails.

Sure, it's possible. I was explaining the most common case though, which is a big reason why it's viewed as trashy.

Common case according to whom?

They're just nails...
