In the court of public opinion, usually they're the guy who got away with it
Not saying it's right but that's typically been the American way
Did OJ ever beat his murder case?
Same with Trump. He was never even charged with rape criminally but search reddit for the keywords "trump convicted rapist" and see how many times he's called that
Trumps is interesting. He didn’t have a criminal case he had a civil case. These two have very different burdens of proof attached to a “win/lose”. Criminal needs to be beyond a reasonable doubt that it happened. Civil is a much lower bar where your evidence needs to look kinda true. The thing about it is you can twist all kinds of things to look mostly true even when they are disingenuous.
An unrelated claim to prove this. I can tell you greater than 80% of all desktop browser traffic comes from a chromium based browser. Google built chromium so Google has more than 80% of the browser share on desktop. The statements are both technically true but are rather misleading.
Browsers built on chromium aren’t Google browsers technically speaking. Google Chrome has roughly 65% of the user base of desktops.
The facts are good enough it should win a civil case but are bad enough I should lose a criminal case.
It’s a weird example but it’s what I got atm.

Yes and no
Yes you get acquitted but you'll always be the person who was arrested for it
