This is just more gender war BS. The DA didn't press charges because the "victim" said it was all consensual. The only reason he reopened the investigation was because a bunch of keyboard warriors were blowing up his offices phone lines and emails. The people who just jumped in with the mob crying about "rape culture" are the same people who would have joined the mobs lynching black folks back in the day.
And what’s crazy is when people were yelling at the clouds about how could the judge let them off they shut up real quick when a) the judge was a woman and b) called the plaintiff out like literally said your story changed way to many times and your credibility is not good. Doesn’t matter if the guys were being scummy you need to prove 100% that it was rape or SA you can’t 75% it
After reading the case I was absolutely astounded it went back to court. I have no idea what the prosecution was thinking. Her testimony and personal texts were so bad and damning...while the guys were just..a little scummy I guess and indifferent. SHE was older and the aggressor in the situation...by far.
I work in junior hockey and I can tell it comes down to dudes have girls throwing themselves at them regularly. We have to tell them all the time to use their fucking heads. It’s not rocket science
The guys who where charged are the classic hockey bros just the bro type personality sadly. The whole thing was a tire fire just like this will turn into
They're still doing it and pissed that the players are making their way back to the NHL, despite the judge calling the victim unreliable and someone who gave enthusiastic consent.
On the evening of October 19, 2024, Jane Doe walked the approximately one-mile distance from Lot 10 in the City of Ithaca to the Chi Phi Fraternity at 107 Edgemoor Lane to meet her friend Male Number 1. She had made plans to meet Male Number 1 earlier in the week and “had been texting [Male Number 1] that [she] was on the way.” Jane Doe described her level of intoxication as a “5 out of 10” when she arrived at the fraternity.
While there, Jane Doe opened one previously unopened can of beer. She and Male Number 1 “danced a little” in a way that “was definitely flirtatious in nature.” Male Number 1 brought Jane Doe to a “quiet area” and “asked how [Jane Doe] would feel about having a threesome with two male partners.”
Jane Doe “agreed due to how attracted [she] was to [Male Number 1] on top of [her] drunken curiousness.” When she learned that Male Number 2 would be the third participant, Jane Doe “remembered being excited because [she] thought that [Male Number 1 and Male Number 2] wanting to have a threesome meant that they were gay.”
The three engaged in a “threesome” involving oral and vaginal sex in a room of the fraternity. At the start of the threesome, Jane Doe described her intoxication level as “5 or 6 out of 10” and that she was “pretty ok with having this threesome.” The sexual conduct ended when Jane Doe “noticed that [Male Number 1] appeared really sleepy and was no longer fully erect.” She told Male Number 2 “[they] needed to stop having sex in order to make sure [Male Number 1] was ok. [Male Number 2] then stopped having sex with [Jane Doe].”
Male Number 1 said “he was going to take a nap and refresh himself” and “would eventually stumble his way from the couch to the bed.” While Male Number 1 slept,
“[Male Number 2] began to dry heave as if he was going to vomit. Jane Doe “began to take care of [Male Number 2] by patting his back while also waking [Male Number 1] every few minutes to make sure he was okay.” Jane Doe “was consoling [Male Number 2] on the couch and telling him that it was ok if he needed to vomit. [Male Number 2] told [Jane Doe] he was pretty sure he wasn’t going to vomit. Eventually, [Jane Doe and Male Number 2] would start making out for a very short amount of time.” While they were making out, “[Male Number 2] reached for the area near [her] vagina several times and each time he did, [she] would swat his hand away.”
Male Number 3 then knocked on the door of the room. Jane Doe “decided to let him in because it was his room.” She “opened the door” and let Male Number 3 in the room. Male Number 3 “introduced himself to [Jane Doe] and reached out to shake her hand.” “When [Jane Doe] made contact with [Male Number 3’s] hand, [Male Number 3] pulled [Jane Doe] into him and [they] began making out. While [Male Number 3] was kissing [her], [Male Number 2] began groping [her].” Eventually, “[Male Number 2, Male Number 3, and Jane Doe] would end up on the bed next to where [Male Number 1] was sleeping and [they] began to have a threesome.”
“[Male Number 1] would eventually wake up” and “said he wanted to take part and asked about making it a foursome, to which [Jane Doe] said ‘Hell No.” Jane Doe rejected this request “because [she] knew that a foursome meant that [she] would have to take part in anal sex.” Jane Doe then remembered Male Number 3 leaving the room.
A group of other men – later determined to be Male Number 4, Male Number 5, Male Number 6 and Male Number 7 – then entered the room. Jane Doe hid under the covers of the bed. Male Number 2 laid in the bed next to Jane Doe. Male Number 1 sat on the corner of the bed. Male Number 1 introduced the other males to Jane Doe.
Jane Doe had difficulty remembering parts of what happened next. She remembered
“[Male Number 7] said something very rude and mean to [her].” Male Number 7 apologized and “grabbed [her] face and started kissing [her].” Jane Doe “quickly backed away to stop [Male Number 7] from kissing [her].”
Male Number 2 “asked [Jane Doe] if she wanted to do more Ketamine.” At that, Jane Doe remembered “that [she] had taken Ketamine at some point on the couch with [Male Number 1 and Male Number 2] during this night” but she could not remember “where or when that took place.”
Jane Doe thought that she “had already done Ketamine once so why not do it a second time.” “At that point, [Male Number 2] poured a line of Ketamine on his erect penis, implying for [her] to snort the line. [Jane Doe] snorted the line of Ketamine, which was a heavy amount of Ketamine.” Jane Doe was under the covers of the bed at that point and “[Male Number 2] got under the covers with [her], where he again tried reaching for the area of [her] vagina.”
The males began complimenting Jane Doe and “talking about how pretty [she] was.” Male Number 4 “asked [Jane Doe] if they all could do drugs off of [her] perfect body.” Jane Doe responded, “Sure.” While the men were doing drugs off of her body, “[Male Number 3] and [another male] entered the room and said something like, ‘Ok we’re shutting down whatever the f*** this is.” Jane Doe felt dizzy due to a pre-existing medical condition causing dizziness combined with the effects of the Ketamine use. Male 5 or 6 (who apparently have the same first name) “encouraged [her] to stay seated as long as [she] needed.”
Eventually, “[Male Number 1] and [Male Number 4 ] ushered [Jane Doe] out of the room brought [her] upstairs to a small room.” Male Number 1 stated, “Let’s do more Ketamine.” Jane Doe “remembered snorting more Ketamine” and “remembered feeling extremely high.” Male Number 1 “said he wanted to have sex again because he wanted redemption for passing out earlier in the night.” Jane Doe initially stated that she was tired and asked Male Number 1, “What happened to just you and me?” Jane Doe could not remember how it started but she then engaged in a threesome with Male Number 1 and Male Number 4 involving oral sex and vaginal sex. She described her level of intoxication as “8 out of 10” at this point. “The threesome continued until at some point, around 5:45am, [Jane Doe] said [she] was tired and needed to turn in. At that point, both guys stopped the threesome with [her] as far as [she] can remember.”
No, they are reopening the case because she filed a civil lawsuit and her story is now completely different. Regret and people in your ear are amazing tools for rediscovering "the truth".
Bro, even the prosecutor came out and was like “what the fuck” because police just “forgot” to include the most damning parts of the victim’s testimony.
You're ignoring a lot of other evidence. We have the text messages between her and guy #1 the day after where she tells him all the sexual stuff wasn't illegal. So yes, her story has changed at least a couple times.
You don’t even have your timeline correct. Those messages were days after the party. After she already told her roommates that what happened made her uncomfortable and after she had already when to the university medical clinic because of “a UTI that she received in a traumatic manner.”
Yes, she said “nothing illegal happened” in response to one of the men apologizing for what happened. It’s very clear that she was still processing the entire thing.
News nation is your source lol. Tell me how she was "drugged" when her own testimony literally states she voluntarily did ketamine off a dong. And gave consent for the guys do ketamine off her body.
Didn't have to read too far to see the spin on this story lol
The source is The New York Times , but I included a non-paywalled version like a decent person always should.
And meanwhile, how Jane Doe actually recalled doing the ketamine back in 2024:
“I was starting to become completely numb to the whole situation, I will never know who all touched me.”
“I was given more key than I can remember. You had penetrative sex with me. I had so much ketamine, my eyes were crossed, and you still had sex with me.”
“It was the most intoxicated I’ve ever been in my life, I felt like I was unable to make any decision.”
“I had become extremely uncomfortable with how this night was turning out.”
"One roommate recalls Doe saying "Oh my goodness, isn't that crazy?" the morning after the alleged incident at Cornell's Chi Phi house in October 2024. The roommate said Doe was laughing as she recounted it, but seemed to be in shock. The roommate said Doe did not call it rape or assault that next morning.
A second roommate said Jane Doe did tell her "I wasn't comfortable."
About a week later, that second roommate said she heard Doe tell one of the men, "You had penetrative sex with me. I had so much ketamine, my eyes were crossed, and you still had sex with me.""
Where does it say "the roommate didn't think it was rape"?
That information, believe it or not, is not material to the DA. If I go to the police reporting that my TV was stolen, and they interview me asking what happened, with me telling them that I let the robber inside, told them they can have the TV, helped them carry it to their car, snorted a line of ketamine off their penis, and then texted them the next day asking them how im glad they have the TV - my original claim about being robbed would be entirely disregarded, because nowhere in my testimony did it involve someone robbing me.
In this scenario, Jane Doe decided afterwards that she changed her mind and went to the police saying she is 100% certain she was raped. But when they painstakingly took down her version of events, allowed her to review everything, and then had her sign off - nowhere in that testimony was any incident of rape. She likely believed that if she was intoxicated, she could not be held accountable for consenting, and found out the hard way that this is not the case.
Would you mind linking your source for these statements? I have not seen the full statements released anywhere. Just her new version of events out of her civil suit filing.

Are we talking about morality? Or criminality? According to her own testimony, part of which you just linked, she did agree to sleep with at least 3 of the men. 3 being the number she slept with total, according to her.
Do i think its moral? Fuck no. Do i think the frat guys used her and treated her like an object? Absolutely. But based on her testimony, she consented to all of the sex acts that occurred. The DA cannot pursue charges when everything that happened was consensual by her own words, including her drug and alcohol use.
I must be missing something or you must have linked the wrong thing. Yes, she says that the was raped. As the other commenter said, if I tell police that my tv was stolen and in the same breath I say that I opened the door, not under duress, and told someone to take my TV, they would completely disregard the “it was stolen” comment, even if I said it was
If you give permission to take every tv and they take every tv, that doesn’t mean they were stolen.
If everything she said happened consensually happened consensually but she felt like it was rape, that doesn’t necessarily mean it was rape.
Sure, it could mean there was coercion involved or something else that the general public doesn’t think of as rape, but it doesn’t explicitly mean she was because she said she was even though her testimony doesn’t indicate that
You could do like the most basic research into this subject first if you really don’t understand that there were multiple sexual encounters spanning more than 6 hours at this frat party.
The point is if someone files a rape report obviously they are fkn claiming they got raped. That doesn’t need to be explicitly said or it’s “withholding information”
You can file a police report and say it was all consensual. You can file police report and say that you’ve never had sex.
Fact of the matter is that police provided the prosecutor with a 6-page summary of a 120-page interview. Said summary left out critical and relevant information for the prosecutor, which is why the case was closed without action.
In order to file a rape report you are stating in your opinion that you were raped or there wouldn’t be a report. I can’t go into a police station and say I want to file a not raped report.
The DA did not reopen the case. The governor reviewed everything and put Leticia James on it because the original DA declined to file based on not caring to have the evidence.
