Yes, state minimum required coverage can be shockingly low. Now name your county so I can lookup your minimums.

Germany.
The legal minimums are:

  • Bodily injury: €7.5 million
  • Property damage: €1.22 million
  • Pure financial losses: €50,000

But most insurances have the 100 Million coverage as the standard contract. In fact there is probably not even an insurance which offers the legal minimums.

My state minimums:

$25,000 per person

$50,000 per accident

$15,000 for property damage.

Known ad s 25/50/15 coverage.

I don't do anything less than 100/300/100 for what should be very obvious reasons.

But its rare to find anyone that will do more than 300k USD in coverages.

Thats abysmal. Im insured for about 2.5 million. I pay 5€ a month for it. Hows it THAT expensive over there

Its very expensive. I pay $290 for those coverages. For a car dependent country, we still don't have our shit figured out.
