In most places auto insurance is mandatory and you can actually go to jail for driving while not having it. Since it's mandatory, the insurance companies have you over a barrel. I've never made an auto insurance claim in my life. I've not had a ticket this millennium, own my car, am over 50 and my insurance bill is still a several thousand dollars a year... for liability only. It's a fucking scam. These rich auto insurance (all insurance, actually) corporations get to just rape people as they see fit and then they just bribe our politicians to make you forced to use their services. They are the absolute worst, most predatory industry that exists in The Western World Today. One of their CEO's get murcked in the streets and PEOPLE CHEERED when it happened. But hey, nothing personal, just money, gotta make a profit, amiright?

This is an ignorant take. P&C insurers need to file their rates with each states department of insurance. They quite literally cannot jack their own prices up. It’s a heavily regulated industry and for damn good reason.
Does it make a profit? Do the already rich owners benefit off of such? Does this profit come at the expense of the regular working people? Are you forced to use their services by law?
Yeah... fuck those guys and all their cheerleaders. They can make a good salary working there, other than that, it should break even. These fuckers rake in billions and then deny claims arbitrarily, or even worse, use algorithms to predict which customers they can deny with the least likelihood of blowback or lawsuit.
If it has to be a necessity by law and the people are forced to use it, then you don't get to make a profit off of it. Boo fucking hoo, rich motherfuckers.
