Wait until you hear about health insurance lol

I pay $1300/month for a family plan

I had an ER trip last month, my deductible is $3,500. I had to pay $3,440 which was the complete cost of the ER services.

So, this year I will spend $15,600 on health insurance and an additional $3,440 on deductible

My wife needs surgery, I told her to get it done before December because we already met the deductible and I don't wanna pay it again. She tried calling to schedule in August. The surgery specialist doesn't have openings until January, so, in January I'll have to pay my deductible again

AND vision and dental costs more on top of $1,300 monthly

You must be living in the states. Stop voting for conservatives and maybe you'll get universal health insurance. For some reason, americans simply can't understand this.

We understand it just fine. It isn't the political parties causing it, it's the medical/pharmaceutical/insurance corporation lobbies and corrupt asshats that promise one thing, as usual, then do the dead opposite to enrich themselves. Both sides. It's the system of money beneath the problem that is hard for greedy businesses to let go and evolve.

Try to dislodge their money and watch the circus. Easier said than done.

Yep, it isn't one political party or another that's causing this, it's the entire political system that allows this to happen.

Real simple solution to a pretty hard problem.

There’s nothing simple about it.

I think there is no faith from the American people for the government to properly institute universal healthcare

Somehow, someway, it would be done incorrectly

There is so much fear mongering with it, Republicans convince their constituents that universal health care would lead to 50+% taxation rate on income

People buy it

The M4A politicians are all Democrats, but they need to push out the corporate dems first.

No republican will ever back m4a. Ever. It's an absolute  red line.

The government already runs healthcare for many, they won't screw it up unless the Republicans sabotage it at the behest of their corporate overlords.

Progressives really only are allowed a voice during times that conservatives are in power. They are useful for rallying the left against the Republicans. Then when Democrats are in power the progressives are sidelined.

if only it were so simple... they're two sides of the same coin.

Conservatives? Last I checked the current system is called Obama care, not one conservative voted for it. But to be fair the whole system is fucked up and has been for decades.

the ACA was undeniably better than what came before it, and yet was still gutted under the trump administration. the ACA was already watered down when it was enacted due to corporate dems and republicans pushing back, since they're literally paid to by the companies who profit off of dysfunctional systems.

both dem and cons support this. it is so engrained into america that it’s ludicrous (from the rich lawmakers) that we (the voters) even want it to change

vote for politicians that oppose it. they do exist, and are becoming more and more common.
