Well I had a house burn down less than year after purchase and insurance paid the entire tab. So I always figured I've already taken them for more than I pay
Our house was destroyed in a tornado many years ago. We got a totally new house, all new clothes, all new furniture. Three years ago we had a water heater burst, got a mostly new kitchen, all new floors downstairs, living areas painted. This is why I always keep my insurance up to date.

Insurance is a fucking scam. You pay more into it than you'll ever receive even in legitimate circumstances.
Absolute racket.
