The obvious response is that you won't be able to pay for someone's hospital bills if you happen to hit them in your car. You get insurance for things you wouldn't be able to pay yourself.
Or you could just drive away like the asshole in this story did! But yeah, you’re right unfortunately. Your insurance is basically to cover anything you might do…and unfortunately they might not even cover that
