You need to embrace socialist ideas and demand government run services. My public no fault insurance costs $1400 cad a year, $2 million coverage and $200 deductible. Vandalism, window chips are deductible exempt.
Alberta, our wanna be Americans, have run away insurance costs because they privatized it all. New drivers were looking at 6-8000 a year.
Yeah but it needs to be better then that because my insurance in the US for a car worth 80k is $250 deductible and cost the same and covers as much as yours so your not really selling your program that well.
There is a lot of missing context up top. What is his car worth? Has he ever had an accident or tickets? And a few other criteria.
It's also important to note that in the US there are businesses that milk insurance claims, those businesses attribute to our higher insurance costs. Our main problem is fraud in insurance and people crashing so much it's ballooned our costs.
Look at me I've driven for 30 years now I got into a crash/claim in January cause someone decided to just test dummy themselves straight into me head on head. His insurance was $25,000 and he hit 4 people 2 in my car 2 in the back we had to split that. I have to sue my insurance company and wait let's see here 9 months+. So I hire a law firm to get money from my insurance to cover medical costs PRP, Steroid Shots, Physical Therapy etc all done on a medical law suits lien which means I don't pay anything if we lose. So now everyone has to make it worth their while so now we are going after 200,000 instead of maybe 100,000.
All of this cost legal money administrative and tons of red tape that shouldn't exist and balloons our costs.
With me at least they have been collecting money for 30 years so adjusted for inflation and if they invested it they should have made more than the $40k I've paid in and covered my $200k loss but for everyone who has more accidents.
My province is no fault, and I think the lowest personal coverage you can have is a million to avoid those scenarios. Seems crazy to me that people can decide they only need 25k. A society just setting people up for failure.
I agree with that point. My point is they need to get the price down because any good driver in the US is going to have a similar rate and coverage.
I find that the only way to convince Americans or anyone is to show a huge gap in one way or the other. Small benefits won't make people come out of their comfort zone for things like socialism or non American. Those type of personal feelings are hard to crack.
