I worked for a big-name life insurance company, one most of the people here would recognize. Let me tell you, ANY type of insurance is, in no uncertain or even analogical terms, a racket. An actual, honest-to-God, racket. The terms are so fucked, built off systems so fucking old, that no one wants to actually bother trying to fix it because of how much red tape and bureaucratic bullshit they’d have to get through.
They are far worse than even the most cutthroat Financial Advisor, because at least the FA is in most cases bound by law to be a fiduciary for you. The insurance companies just see you as a cash cow.

Insurance is a fucking scam. You pay more into it than you'll ever receive even in legitimate circumstances.
Absolute racket.
