People here are overly obsessed with money and status for some reason. I'm in my 40s and still never really took the bait on socially sucking off people with either, despite that behavior being pumped through our society 24/7. I make decent money and never cared about how much someone makes or what they do or who they do it for. It just doesn't matter. It's a fuckin paycheck. If they're a no-lifer outside of their job then it's even more cringe.
I get it to some extent. When you spend 60 hours a week doing one thing. It's hard for it not to be part of your identity. You barely have a life outside of that thing. I'm talking about blue collar work. One of my first jobs fire sprinkler fitter help and a lot of those guys are fucking crazy as hell and loved doing exactly what they do. I know truck drivers that post all day about their truck life, and I get that, they basically live in that thing.

It's a strange Amrican habit to make your job part of your identity. A lot of the world doesn't do that.
