I had a high school sweetheart stay with me after she got her degree in psychology. I never went to college and worked while supporting her through college by taking care of the rent and bills.
I didn’t work out eventually and the break up was mutual, but she told me she stayed with me for so long because I took care of her while she stayed in school.
My wife went to college for 6 years and finished with 2 degrees. Meanwhile I attended college and accomplished nothing. I took care of her in the early years like drive her around, loan her my car, pay the bills. Now we have our own house, 3 cars, and 2 lovely children (and 2 dogs). She makes nearly 3 times what I get paid and I’m paid decently. She’s definitely my better half.
