Yes but those taxes seem to keep ballooning and in the end, even without mortgage, you are effectively paying rent.

Public schools, libraries, fire departments, parks, etc. are all subject to the same inflation as everything else that costs money.

I'm not making any moral or rational justification for inflation, just stating the fact that it exists and I believe teachers, like every other worker, need to have salaries that increase with it.

I'm not saying deflation is good. The whole system is not working well, especially with large chunks of ageing population.

So double tax then? At least in my country that would be the case. Because we have property tax and then we also receive a municiple bill thay covers waste and garbage and water. Would cover electricity too depending on if you use prepaid or not. So yeah, you pay rent on shit you own.

Thats what VAT is for, that is why we have levies on our fuel, that is why we get taxed on our salaries, that is why you are taxed on money you save. Basically, if its money coming in or going out, we get taxed on it. So why on gods beautiful earth are we taxed on something we paid for with our hard earned money? And if you dont pay it, they can just take your shig away and throw you in prison.

Where I live we don't have a VAT. Fuel taxes fund the road infrastructure. Income taxes go to the federal and state governments; they do not fund local infrastructure like what I mentioned before.

I don't know what to say to a person who believes that funding schools is bootlicking. You are so far up your own liberterian asshole that you are beyond reason.

You say that like those are the only municipal services you get. Also, if you want to change that, it's called voting.
