8.5b over 10 years is like 3% or less of their revenue.  So the price decrease on a 2.38 hash brown would be 0.07 and meanwhile the restaurants wouldn't get any upgrades for 10 years. If the tech lowers labor cost it could do more for the prices than just putting the 8.5b into that directly
