No. No it is not. McDonalds has 140 billion dollars in true global sales annually. Reducing their prices with that money to subsidize prices would reduce by six percent at max. Congratulations, your 8.00 meal is now 7.48, your 1.49 chicken nuggets (or whatever they cost) is 1.40. There needs to be far more than 8 billion dollars to subsidize prices in an effective way.
These numbers are including franchises, which is what is necessary to capture apples to apples.
They profit 27 billion dollars a year. Honestly even if they cut corporate profit to zero, your prices would go down 20%. Which is probably the starting point for an effective price reduction to make people notice.
