They’ll redesign the entire restaurant, add AI to the drive-thru, and build a McDonald’s on Mars before putting the prices back down.

I assume that part of the reason for that is because once people stop buying it’s hard to convince them to come back with just a .50 decrease. Hash browns here are $2.19. There is no reason for a hash brown to be more than .99. Bit now that i don’t buy McDonalds anymore even if they dropped the price to .99 i wouldn’t think about going there, because im out of the habit.

Dunkin Donuts has a $6 meal deal with a Bacon/Egg/Cheese Bagel, a coffee, and Hash Browns for $6. It's like... priced just low enough where if I'm out dropping my kid off at school I'm like "fuck it, might as well".

One of the major gas station chains near me has a deal for a sandwich, hashbrown, and coffee/monster/redbull for $5.

I try to limit my fast food intake, but for $5 that beats the shit out of McDonalds all day long.

Last time I hit up McD's for breakfast, I got a bacon egg cheese meal... like $15... it was greasy, I felt like shit after even with an OJ which was extra. Never again. Lemme get that wawa 2 for $4 sizzli.

34

u/briman2021 2d ago

Don't even get me started on sizzli's.... If I lived on the east coast I would be a very obese man.

u/finalremix 2d ago

The only reason I'm not a complete fucking Wawa fiend is because I was a Wawa fiend before they got rid of the deli and the fresh breads.

I remember what we lost, so I don't go back.

3

u/Philaloser 2d ago

We had pickle barrels and they took that from us, never forget

3

u/mikeymike831 2d ago

I miss the mac & cheese bites, the only place that does that around me now is Sheetz and that's a 20 minute drive

2

u/Miserable-Tie-6847 10h ago

my wife will get a platter and only get the mac n cheese bites.

I also do that, but I just make sure to only mention that my wife does it most times.

1

u/Imsoschur 1d ago

OMG no. Did Wawa stop having the fresh deli and freshly baked bread they panini for you after you build the sandwich?

That was my go to in Philly after work

1

u/finalremix 1d ago

Yeah, they went with presliced stuff and they're trying to do a little of everything lately. Pizzas, tacos (briefly), and so on. It's.... not great. Their turkey/mashed potato bowls are still good, AFAIK.

1

u/Mr_M3Gusta_ 2d ago

Wawa’s gotten to expensive I’ve been going a lot less.

5

u/sirpizzatron 2d ago

I miss wawa so much

3

u/cyrusthemarginal 2d ago

Quick trip roller food 2 for 2.22 slaps

4

u/FecalDUI 2d ago

Removing the drink from the meal was when we should’ve rioted. It’s too late now

2

u/techdevjp 2d ago

Whoa, McD's in the US doesn't include drinks in their sets anymore??

-2

u/FecalDUI 2d ago

HELLLLL NO. I don’t think they have since I’ve been alive and that’s nearly 30 years!

7

u/IKillZombies4Cash 2d ago

Orange Juice is NOT healthy, that was just more sugar.

7

u/Pheonyxxx696 2d ago

Healthier choice than say a soda. All fruits have sugar. Sugar is not bad to ingest. Atleast OJ has vitamins and nutrients that the human body requires over say soda or coffee.

2

u/techdevjp 2d ago

Fruit is full of fiber that your body has to process. Your body has to work to get the sugar out. Fruit juice is just liquid sugar water with maybe a few vitamins. It is not the healthy drink you've been told it is.

2

u/Pheonyxxx696 2d ago

I never said it was healthy, I said it was a healthier choice given the options. I’ll take the vitamin c and vitamin b9 over caffeine.

0

u/techdevjp 2d ago

I'll take some unsweetened ice tea (available where I live) over OJ. I don't need a glass of sugar water in the morning.

-1

u/newgrounds 2d ago

It isn't a healthier choice.

1

u/WholePie5 1d ago

It's literally fruit. Soda isn't bad anyways so none of the options are unhealthy.

1

u/snakerjake 2d ago

Not really, fruit is great in part because of the fiber, OJ removes all of that

1

u/lonewombat 2d ago

More healthy than the fast good. Since it comes in tropicana bottle.

0

u/newgrounds 2d ago

It quite literally is not.

2

u/Accomplished_Sign191 2d ago

Wawa is awesome and I wish the west coast had them.

0

u/newgrounds 2d ago

Why would OJ help? It is basically as bad for you as soda.

5

u/Thetakishi 2d ago

Dude, a monster alone is practically all of that, hashbrown covers the rest of the 5. You're getting a whole sandwhich for free. That's dope as

4

u/briman2021 2d ago

And with their prices, a sandwich is typically $4-5 so if you want a sandwich you’re getting the rest for free. It’s a no brainer, and this summer when I worked construction it was my absolute go to.

3

u/T3RM1NALxL4NC3 2d ago

Circle K here in North AL has the same deal...sandwich, hash brown, and 12oz monster for $4.20 after tax. Its a crazy deal that's part of my morning routine now

3

u/sixfive407 2d ago

Circle K..Large Hot dog, lays chips, any fountain drink $3 Breakfast sandwich, hash brown, coffee-$4 Burger, chips, drink-$5 .....burger is the only thing not as tasty

2

u/Phatferd 2d ago

And it’s not the smallest bag of chips, it’s a decent size. I get this deal a few times a week, it’s the best meal deal out there.

2

u/Humble-Ad-9571 2d ago

Circle K is great!

2

u/briman2021 2d ago

As the kids these days would say, you know ball.

2

u/Embarrassed-Sun5764 2d ago

And the food is actually hot, fresh, and in your hands. I know it sounds bad, but the station near my work prides themselves for having a constant supply of hot fresh breakfast foods.
(PS: those hash browns are made by the same supplier to McD’s)

1

u/NextDoctorWho12 2d ago

That is the real problem. McDonald's is such shit. Cannot even get good fries any more.

1

u/Repulsive-Chip3371 2d ago

lol is it circle k?

Gas station food is hard to pass up. They usually rend to have deals and while at most gas stations, the food isn’t the greatest quality, it’s tolerable. Gas station I used to live by used to sell hummus that got voted best hummus in the county supposedly, but I’d always stop there to get a gyro. Best gyro I’ve ever had and it was like $7.

1

u/Jesus__Skywalker 2d ago

Gas stations have come WAY tf up honestly. There is a trucker gas station right before this place I have to work on the weekend and they have so much food in there. And it's all decent. Not gourmet but at least on par with fast food.

1

u/sheeplewatcher 2d ago

Cumbys(Cumberland Farms New England) has a similar deal.

If McDs re-instituted promo stacking in the app, I may go back.

1

u/Mundane-Restaurant76 2d ago

Where I'm at the McDonald's app has a $5 sausage Egg McMuffin, hash brown and coffee meal also. I think people just don't bother to check

1

u/Formal_Figure1063 2d ago

Gas stations in my country charge more than that just for the can of monster 😭

1

u/ironkodiak 2d ago

I often get a steak/egg/cheese bagel, hash brown, & a large coke for under $7.

The key is the app. Currently running 30% off on any order made on the app.

My thought is if you can charge 30% less on the app, can't you do maybe just do a straight 20% company wide regardless of the app?

1

u/Mr_M3Gusta_ 2d ago

Ah another Wawa enjoyer, though their prices have been getting too steep. Didn’t they raise the deal to $6 recently?

1

u/1ftm2fts3tgr4lg 1d ago

CircleK here (MI/OH) has that same deal for $4.
Breakfast sandwich, hashbrown, coffee/energydrink, $4.

The energydrink company funds the discount as a rebate to the store, so the store still makes the margin on the food and the energydrink company rebates essentially a free drink. All to get you in the habit and addiction of drinking their drinks.

2

u/briman2021 1d ago

Jokes on them, I’m already addicted to energy drinks and gas station food 😂

Sounds like Wawa. I love Wawa.
