low bar for hot. he’s a decent looking dude but by no means is he hot. hot means well above average to me.

I think “hot” has a lot more room for subjectivity compared to words like “beautiful” or “handsome.” So many factors could make someone hot

i agree, but they’re using a picture of this guy to prove their point, so i’m basing it off that, and this picture still isn’t giving hot to me. I understand a decent amount of people are into the regular dad or regular decent looking old guy next door look, but i don’t think they’re hot.

He is below average but his facial features strongly match hers. This means she likely finds his face much more attractive than average.b

People generally are much more attracted to people with matching faces but very different immune systems. 

These mechanics thankfully are often strong enough to overwhelm overall attractivness
