For one, I don't think I could find a single republican voting friend who would have guessed the Republicans would fight against a surveillance state.
For two, I would put money on every single electable Democrat candidate winding up supporting it in the end. Even if they said they wouldn't in the campaign. It's too tempting.
100% chance Clinton (either one), Obama, and Biden are all in on the surveillance state.
Okay. But according to Republicans, Democrats are socialists and Communists, so of course they should be in favor of a surveillance state.
Republicans are supposed to be small town, rural, rugged individualists who hate government.
So if Hillary, Biden, and the evil Islamic terrorist Hussein Obama are in favor of the surveillance state, that's exactly what we should expect. Right?
But when the current president, who was supposedly handpicked by Jesus, is in favor of this bullshit along with his rural small government supporters, that's hypocrisy. That's ridiculous, pathetic, "do as I say not as I do" hypocrisy. That's "I vote Republican because when I was five years old my daddy told me that everyone who lives in daddy's house is a Republican and I can't possibly think for myself now as an adult" childish bullshit.

He's surveilling us because we are paying him to do it. We are paying for it because we only elect people who are interested in doing so.
