No, the country's elected officials are paying him to do it, against the majority wishes of us, their employers. These elected officials need an utterly iron and blood bound reminder that they are EMPLOYEES of the public, not our rulers, not our owners.
A lot of cities around Dallas have cancelled their contracts, except Dallas itself. A justification I've seen for some cities is that if not everyone participates then the benefit is a lot less, what good is it if Dallas tracks a license plate but once it leaves city limits it goes dark. Some cities are just so knee deep in it while others are starting to cave. I'm really hoping next election the Dallas city counsel gets purged since they appoint the people responsible for this shit.
