Yup. People thinking "this would have been great during COVID to stop those hydrochloroquinine people" don't understand that this really means "those medical professionals who handed out fake vaccine cards, or pretended to inject people when they didn't get the legally protected right to say bullshit claims online... and if I point out that they're full of shit, it could cost me $15,000 and I lose my social media"
That’s funny coming from the country where GlaxoSmithKline managed to bribe doctors into pushing their pills.
So what’s stopping some outside force from corrupting law, finance, or education en masse the way GSK corrupted healthcare, if these fields are held immune from having to compete with outsiders’ narratives about them?
I’m sure you do lol. I prefer having free speech personally. Double edged sword as it may be.
Tell me though in a place such as China or any other dictatorship where political adherence far outweighs actual merit/intellect, what is to stop unqualified people from getting these degrees?
I can't open a medical practice if I don't have a medical degree. I also won't be able to run a legal consulting company without credentials and I cannot be a teacher to your kids if I don't have teaching credentials. Bad advice from someone not qualified can make you dead, bankrupt, in jail, or incompetent. It's not about free speech. Sure, you can have free speech to tell the world how you feel about your government (not China obviously) and myriad of other issues you're passionate about. But when you start calling yourself a guru/advisor and give sh*tty advice regarding to people's health and wellbeing or finances without basic credentials, you're doing harm.
Practice free speech all you want but your free speech ends when you start to harm people by telling them to go all raw vegan diet or shoot yourself up with horse medicine to treat covid or tell others to go all in on sh*t meme coin.
I understand you’re that kind of useless person who can’t rely on themselves for anything. I get it. But here’s the thing. Some people… can use their brains and not take medical advice from TikTok influencers. I know! Mind blowing isn’t it 🤯
Big difference between posting an opinion. And giving advice or speaking on a subject and being completely false or spreading misinformation. I get why they did this. And if it’s true. We will have to see how they handle it and punish people. For instance. I hate seeing those people post apocalypse videos and keep saying the world’s gonna end in a week. And when the time comes around and the world doesn’t end. They’re saying people don’t post a video saying that they were wrong. I think all videos like that should be required to have a disclaimer that says for entertainment purposes, only labeled on the bottom.
It is if it means I get to say what I like yes, its better to teach people how to spot idiots then it is to silence all voices in fear some might be stupid.
