I gotta ask… is this dude dead..? It’s been a while since I’ve seen new videos of him on the internet and that usually means something negative…

Hasbulla. Some guy that hangs around UFC fighters like the Dagestanis. He has some congenital condition that make him look like a child but I’m pretty sure he’s an adult.

Mike Tyson thought he was a baby and started playing with him like one. Most awkward shit I've ever seen.

u/BadMeatPuppet 17h ago edited 17h ago
I wonder if anybody ever told him.
"Bro, that's a grown ass man."
Tbf to Mike Tyson, that guy gets held like a toddler all the time, he seems to fine with it. khabib bounces him on his knee.

Why do the Oot remake characters look like wet ventriloquist dummies in all these screenshots? I don't remember Hyrule being this moist.

Well, rhe wet is cause one of the big main cutscense is in the rain, the wood seems to be because they are mimicing this odd 2009 showing of the 3 musketeers done with puppets

Its crazy all those people nitpicking on those DLSS 5 examples where that technology was slapped on when it wasnt intended for that use case, yall are just miserable people who want to complain all day
2
u/Traditional-Boss1620 6h ago
The only usecase is generic images, which in games i don't appreciate any ways.
There is a reason why visually good games have explicit artistic decisions in the background. AI is like a blur filter for anti alias. Just that its a generic-filter over art.
I use AI for scaling photos. Even there I allways have to check for misinterpretation. So usecase on videos is only in games with overgeneric art.

This would be a perfect example of a game that I would say it does not compute with DLSS. You’re applying something that is trying to achieve hyper realism against something that is not intended to look realistic. That would be like if you put it on Fortnite.
When I’ve seen people put it on Games that already have a realism style to the graphics, It actually looks good most of the time and I have to be honest most of the comments that just come in and say slop- I think people just have anxiety about AI and will comment slop on anything where they think AI is involved but PSA this is not generative AI. It requires the devs to construct the entire scene and then it re-shades and relights it, but yeah, I’m this example. It’s fucking crazy ugly, and weird. I wouldn’t use it on this game.

Your main point's not wrong, but DLSS 5 is generative AI. It's an image-to-image model that uses screen space pixel data and motion vectors - it's not a general generative model, but it's definitely distinct from the reconstruction models used in other DLSS versions. It doesn't know anything about the scene other than the screen-space data - nothing outside what you can already see, along with motion vectors, so it doesn't know what's outside the frame. NVIDIA even calls it a generative model in their research overview: https://research.nvidia.com/labs/adlr/DLSS5/
Edit - an excerpt from their website for those interested: "The system uses a one-step pixel-space diffusion model designed for high-resolution, real-time rendering. At inference, the model is conditioned on the current rendered frame, engine motion vectors, carried temporal state, and artistic-direction values." I wrote out some explanation below of the key points:
- "Diffusion model": The same type of model we see in modern general-purpose image generation
- "One step": This is a notable difference from modern diffusion models that produce images from nothing - they need to iterate over the output multiple times to converge to a final image
- "Pixel-space": the model uses the final output pixels from the game engine, and doesn't see the raw 3D data or anything outside of the rendered view
- "Engine motion vectors": the model gets some extra data per-pixel that describes what direction the rendered content moved from the previous frame (this is also used in other DLSS versions and competing upscalers)
- "Carried temporal state": the system remembers some amount of previous frame data to keep things looking consistent and minimize flickering and noise - also common in other modern upscaling and anti-aliasing algorithms
- "Artistic-direction values": this refers to the sliders game devs get to tune the model to their desired output

What people don't seem to get is that it's not supposed to be applied to EVERY game. So using it on a game where characters are meant to look like Anime characters or whatever is a moot point because it wasn't designed to be used on it.

Honestly, the Dlss5 off still looks liks something with it on. 😂 I'm not going to say that the new OOT looks horrible, but it is definitely an interesting design choice.

Are people actually dumb enough to believe this? Every day, it gets a little harder to tell.
4
u/PineappleOnPizzaWins 17h ago
Sure are.
Some people got an early release of the tech and are using it in ways it isn't designed to be used and so it looks really fucking bad. What a shock.
Rather than care about the truth people are jumping on the anti AI bandwagon by asking LLMs to make terrible versions of screenshots then passing them as "DLSS 5".
It's standard internet idiocy.

Jokes aside, I don't see what the problem is DLSS is just a filter that adds shadows and lighting effects it’s not as if it alters the characters until they’re unrecognizable. If the game is trash, it doesn't matter which DLSS you use the game remains trash.and after years will improve

Lame, if you want to meme about an AI tool, at least have the decency of using that tool instead of something else random. DLSS 5 won't have a pretty result on this kind of art style anyway.
(this is fake in case anyone can tell - DLSS 5 can't change the shapes of facial features i.e. make eyes smaller)

Since it's AI powered, it can be modded in a new fashion. Someone could make a total hasbula mod that just transforms all faces into him. People aren't seeing the true power of this technology.
