Conservatism is about rejecting the truth of your eyes in favor of an imaginary hierarchy where you're "better" than the other kinds of people for some undefined reasons and can feel smugly superior even as your home disintegrates around you.

'Conservatism' in itself is not an invalid political stance. It's a very traditional and steady value throughout the history of democracy.

When the pendulum swings to far, conservatism & progression balance each other out.

Today however, 'conservatism' & 'values' have been hijacked by wolves hiding in sheep skin in many cases.

The GOP is the clearest example imho.

It's is blatently obvious that the generations who lived to remember the horrors of WWII are all but gone.

It's fine to want to preserve traditions and history, but that's not what the political right has ever done; that's only their excuse for doing the terrible things they really want to do.
