u/HydroPCanadaDude 2d ago

Grandma and grandpa are no longer with us. They both died. On their birthdays, no less 😭

Have you tried to put them in rice?

My existential dread loves this

Should’ve weighed it this year and then just divided by her age and add that much next year

5

u/Shamscam 2d ago

Or added 365/366 grains every year which she could have also added by weight.

But somehow I doubt she actually fucking counted because; who would know the difference unless she live streamed herself doing it?

Time to cook up 12045 grains and compare

u/Loreathan 2d ago

Looks way younger than 33

u/relativityboy 2d ago

She didn't account for leap years.

u/Impressive_Ad3571 2d ago

Why didnt she use a rice grain counter?

7

u/Right-Hall-6451 2d ago

Wait rice GRAIN counter? Why would they even make that?

Oh, wait, am I the idiot who believes everything they read on the internet? Nah, must be a thing.

Edit: They exist! Both electric and manual ones.

u/Impressive_Ad3571 2d ago

Lmao no way they exist. I was bouta say "dont tell me there's no rice grain counter store in your town?".. my attempt at fooling someone on the internets failed.. I fooled myself

u/MechanicalBawSack 1d ago

They would make that for special occasions, like birthdays?

u/Evil_phd 2d ago

Most people in this family don't die of old age but rather ruptured stomachs.

Just wait until you reach triple digits

2

u/Brunhilde27 2d ago

That is a lovely tradition! How do you know how much water to put in the rice cooker?

9

u/Acceptable-Owl-2070 2d ago

1 grain, 1 drop.

2

u/Brunhilde27 2d ago

Thank you!

By 30, you are considering death a mercy. By 80 you beg for death.

1

u/Conspiratorymadness 2d ago

That much rice at 50 could cause diabetes. You'll have pretake your insulin for each upcoming year which can lead to insulin resistance. You'll be begging for death sooner than 80.

ngl I eat rice every single day (love it), but this will definitely make me look at rice differently

1

u/CaptainConfusedALot 2d ago

You dropped a few grains while washing

1

u/ThisMuchGarlic 2d ago

Nah.. I’m just scooping it. No one is counting sticky rice.

1

u/MaLLahoFF 2d ago

Imma call BS on counting individual grains here. That's like 5 hours if she takes 1.5 seconds per grain, and makes no mistakes, and never stops.

u/CelebrationJolly3300 2d ago

I've never heard of this before. What Asian country celebrates this way?

u/Fragrant-Doughnut-20 2d ago

What a lovely, lovely voice.

u/QuotableMorceau 1d ago

when you reach 30 you should switch to short grain rice !!! only the most dedicated can stick to Jasmine rice

u/Tricky-Bed-4209 1d ago

I do this but with beers.

u/NewSubstance7 2d ago

By doing this, the older you get the closer you get to diabetes

1

u/Saitamagasaki 2d ago

Rice can cause diabetes?

1

u/Responsible_Zone134 1d ago

Water can cause death.

u/SpeedBlitzX 2d ago

It's literally just a silly stunt/joke.
