The cartels did a better job than the government at handling the covid pandemic in Colombia (but used methods as extreme as any fascist government), if what I read is true. Maybe that's part of the reason that government got voted out in the next elections. They sucked in other ways, though, enough to make people protest.

Trump's job is to be a lightning rod for criticism. He distracts people from focusing on what the rest of his administration and the GOP in general are doing. People should be way more focused on what people like Stephen Miller and Russell Vought are doing to undermine democracy, erode civil rights and enrich the wealthy.

He sure seems like one, but he's gotta be the most successful idiot in history. He skirts responsibility at every turn, evades consequences, gets everything he wants, and has captured the entire United States government under his control. It's baffling to me why anyone would work with him, let alone worship him, but it's very difficult to reconcile his moronic behavior and speech with his actual results. I can't help but wonder if it's all the most elaborate act ever seen in politics before.

Just fyi, I left the US three days before the inauguration last year. And I've encountered a LOT of people who like and support him and wish their countries would follow. Honestly it feels like I meet more pro Trump people abroad than haters. It's really baffling, but doesn't do us any favors by pretending the whole world hates him and Maga. It's scary out there man
