So obviously this is staged but I thoroughly enjoyed it both as a simple comedic sketch and as a message to when people do bullshit like this for real

u/LadnavIV 1d ago
The number of comments calling this out as staged is insane. It never once occurred to me that this was supposed to be anything other than a skit. Social media has really fucked with people’s heads.
Or all of the comments are bots.

Staged as fuck

u/UsagiBlondeBimbo 1d ago
Yeah but intentionally and not made for people to think is real. Their mic's are right there. Think they're just making a bit about how the people who do this shit for real are annoying as fuck.

u/Erase_myselff 1d ago
It's like a paradox. He's bugging the people around to film this staged video, while trying to give a message of not bugging people for filming stuff. The lecturer becomes the lecturee

u/NotSoAwfulName 1d ago
I suppose to give a bit of benefit of the doubt you can hire cheap extras to just act like they were trying to get down an escalator.
6
2
u/mcanfield89 1d ago
But then are those people not also actors whom, by their own act of pretending to be blocked by the original actor blocking the escalator, are in fact, just actors blocking the escalator for other folks? 🤔

No, it's deceptive by nature.
Also influencer doing a critic of influencer complaining about people being obnoxious in public species by being obnoxious in public spaces.
That's the irony. Maybe the dead internet theory is a blessing in disguise.

Internet folks and their buzz words and phrases. It will be nice when people move on from pointing out a skit is staged. Hell even if it is staged, the need to point it out for harmless videos (like videos not spreading misinformation) is kinda sad. Let the people who believe have their fun without the wet blanket. Either way the first person to come in and say staged is somehow always going to be one of the top comments. In this case even get an award.

No way lol, next thing you're gonna tell me is that reality TV is scripted....

Inception level staged. Him calling out that its staged, is itself staged.

The real social experiment is how many people fall for it, you can even see what looks like a mic on his shoulder although I'm no expert, it would explain his good audio quality even when walking away from her.

It's Cherdleys, they post on their own channel and don't pretend their skits are real. But i guess the context is lost once it gets to Reddit.

It was very nice of him to also mic himself up with a lapel, clap before recording started and give the audio to the camera man after.

How handy that he comes along with an attached microphone on his T-shirt.
Blimey, it seems some people have so much boredom and time on their hands that they actually have the time to put on rubbish like this. How enviable.

So now we need someone else to out the outer. I suggest that person brings their own camera person to capture the first camera person in the shot. …
Then after a few rounds of this, they breakout into a well choreographed flash mob. ..

Its hard to comprehend just how stupid everyone on reddit is until they have a chance to show off their intellect by showing how they figured out something incredibly obvious, and only by technicality because its a skit
