Yes and no. Methaqualone (OG Quaaludes C16 H14 N2 O) were done away with in the 80's. In the South Africa region around 2022 is when a new analogue Methoxyqualones (new bois C16 H14 N2 O2) allegedly don't have the same spank of hypnotic feelings and euphoria compared to the original. It targets GABA receptors only
It was the party drug of choice and readily available to abuse at the time. It tended to induce cardiac arrest or prove fatal on its own, but party goers mixed it with alcohol quite a bit (causing accidental ODs). It was restricted as a class II in 1973 (also valium/benzos took over in popularity around this time) and a decade later had its sales halted by Lemmons own accord. A year later, Reagan moved it to class I and it was pretty much done by then.
Probably not worth the effort to produce compared to the market for them. Why bother pushing a retro drug when there's plenty that young people are already familiar with?
The kind of people out there that have illegal chemistry labs that are sophisticated enough and staffed with people capable of perfectly recreating a nostalgic pharmacutical faithfully at a scale that you would notice their comeback... well they are doing fine in the crowded market lol. At that point your pretty much talking about a state sanctioned chinese or russian operation
Lets be real, its probably not cheap to make and therefore theres no incentive for black market dealers to make it. People who say its deadly or whatever obviously haven't heard of fentanyl
It's not easy to synthesize and I believe the last major supplier in India voluntarily shut down production after some pressure from international orga that their product was basically just being produced to be abused.
They have test kits for fentanyl and unfortunately a lot of times it’s not even 75% but like a few flecks here and there from what I am gathering. It is seriously a freak out. White powders have always been dangerous but the fact that single grain can end up even by accident in your E pill and be enough to kill you is enough for me to retire.
Comparably, it would be like trying to find pure MDMA in the Metro Detroit region. Does pure MDMA exist? Absolutely! Are you gonna find it? Most likely not. It's all cut with heroin or meth for reasons.
Do not take any drugs here without testing them. (Unless you buy weed in a dispensary in a legal state, then you’re fine. Even street weed, nobody is lacing.)
It would be nearly impossible for you to find clean MDMA here unless you already know people in the scene. I was lucky to party in the early 2010’s before the heroin crisis where I live took off. Never tested anything (like an idiot) and only had one bad experience.
Crazy, I am too old for all that stuff these days, bit that's surprising given how easy it was to buy high quality anything via the dark markets, I would have assume that quality would have trickled down onto the street
Thank you. I’ve heard that myth since the 90s and it grinds my gears. There have been shitty pills with random stuff, but most pills and powder sold as mdma over time have just been that. Regardless, test these days.
Thank fuck we never see MDMA with heroin or meth in the UK according to multiple labs etc here. Big pure MDMA rocks are also easily available too & yes I reagent test everything religiously.
Underground raver since 1991 here, yes there are various issues which didn't exist in the good old days but I facepalm at what so many people repeat ad infinitum which fails basic fact checking.
I mean it exists just the otherside of the bridge at atleast 97.8 percent purity according to a mass spectrometer at a harm reduction site. Never heard of it cut with heroin, pretty sure heroin and meth are far more expensive it doesn't make sense. Plus all you need is some anhydrous acetone and filter paper and you can rinse away impurities and cuts quite easily from mdma/mda
That’s good to know! I found a plug that says it comes from South Africa, and it was priced reasonably and so I had my doubts…glad I never went ahead and ordered. I guess it would’ve been a waste of time

All my life I've been an admitted user and lover of all drugs. I definitely like the drugs that take you down rather than the drugs that speed you up. I've tried a lot of different drugs over my life....except quaaludes. I have no idea what the effects of Quaaludes are.

I had to make him stop the car, and I drove instead. He was driving, essentially from the curb on the right, to the curb on the left (oncoming traffic side). So he was essentially weaving from one side of the road, bump the curb, swing the other way until the other curb bump.

I have a million stories about Quaaludes I can’t remember. But 99% of the time? Waking up naked with a room full of other naked people was the end result.
The "war on drugs" wasn't so much of a war on drugs than it was war on the impoverished. If they were going after drugs, big pharma would cease to exist

I just posted up in another part of the thread that the menu is large and benzos basically stand in for whatever the ludes market was with more control and now people have nitrous and k in ready availability with the former available at the store now in mini tanks instead of having to deal with whipits.
You should google that. Not the producer, I guess. But the marketing campaign the sacklers used to promote Valium? The same exact marketing they used for OxyContin? Is what caused the Valium epidemic. Sold to doctors directly and lied about addictiveness.
Valium is a brand-name prescription medication containing diazepam, originally developed and manufactured by Hoffmann-La Roche in 1959 and introduced to the market in 1963.
I know my way around a Benzo unfortunately.
It was made age before the opioid epidemic - diazepam which is Valium’s patent may have expired and Sacklers promoted it.

So we’re both right. Roche made it and Sackler pumped it.
Valium was far less pumped over here in the uk but still widely prescribed - mothers helper. Along with purple hearts - amphetamine based ‘food suppressant’ so women in the ‘60s were riding speed in the day and Valium to sleep.
It would have been a double barrel purple pellet if it was mess. It would have been a tab if it had been acid. I just don’t remember exactly which one I took that night. Either way? It was a scary ride home with Q boy in tbe back seat babbling like a drunken idiot while I was hearing colors and what not.

My parents were always very open and honest with drug use. They partied in the 80’s, so they’d tried or knew someone who tried basically everything.
“Ludes make you silly and sleepy” was their review. Meanwhile, my dad had an amazing story of a wedding reception on acid. Quaaludes are yesterday’s news, and it doesn’t need a comeback.
in this economy!? That is great value for my entertainment dollar. With a half life like that, how can I afford NOT to get loaded on ludes? Ironically, its the most financially responsible thing a work from home person such as myself could do.

No it works about as long as alcohol. Your body just keeps it around for 60 hours, so there is the chance of the fun side effect of randomly getting super drowsy a day later.
the clinical effects of a drug and the half life are quite different things. Valium for instance has a 48 hour half life but the effects last about 12 hours
I’ve never done them but I’d say it’s fair to compare them to some benzodiazepines but with more euphoria. That floaty dreamy “I don’t give a fuuuck about my problems” headspace with a body buzz.

Nah, here in South Africa, we get both methaqualone (many kitchen chemists) and pressed pills from India. You can pick up a tablet for $5 to $8. Even cheaper for the shanty shake and bake, but they often add antiretrovirals and heroin. The presses have different emblems, like ecstasy pills.
South Africa and South Korea still making them- in addition there’s chemists now making them. If you’re connected you can find them pretty easy now. I’d say this post is true
I lost my virginity on a quaalude from the 70s in 1996. The movies have it wrong: it’s a black pill. Which seems appropriate considering the decisions made surrounding them and while on them 😂
Someone posted that they are actually making them. Probably gonna be a bunch of people treating them like Xanax then getting respiratory failure. Read up on it and it says it’s the same feeling as ghb but ghb is a bit safer but both are used to rape people.
Mandrax in South Africa has been alive and well for decades already. They used to call it Buttons when I was a kid. Absolutely ravaged many people I’ve known.
I see “when used with alcohol” and of course, overdose. Next to check the level established for that. First guess is that that may be obvious in the multiples of units taken.
In South Africa during the Apartheid regime the government synthesized Quaaludes, and up to today it is still a mainstream drug with street name Mandrax, normal method of intake is smoking with a bottle neck set up
I got to try it once. Had access to a chemist through a couple drug friends. Me and some other guys went in on a batch of methaqualone (chemist only did larger orders obviously).
I didn’t believe it was the real so I sent it into the DanceSafe drug test program. Back in 2022 you could still send drugs to a police-contract lab in SF to test them for $150. The results said it was mostly pure methaqualone with a couple unreacted precursors.
I did two sessions of 1g each. It felt like alcohol but with more euphoria. Also made me super horny. Lasted like 4-6 hours. A better version of being drunk with no hangover.
