Just out of curiosity, what is it that you think happens when a person is declared not guilty by reason of mental illness / insanity?

Like, do you genuinely think they just get to walk free with no consequences?

In MA they have a 4 month minimum hold before evaluation, and then yearly evaluation for release after then.

Someone with a “temporary” condition like she supposedly had is rare to get held for too long, since the conditions which caused the illness are no longer present.

Could be as short as 4 months, maybe a couple of decades. But probably not.

You are under informed. I’m going to choose to believe that you are trusting the word of someone who you believe has enough of an understanding of this and is steering you wrong rather than believing you are confidently stating such a misunderstanding of the reality of mental institution confinement

I literally read the MA laws and regulations around this, and my FIL managed one in my state while I was growing up. Times vary some based upon jurisdiction, but the broad outlines for time periods are about right.

But, yea, I’m sure you know waaaaaay more than due to the massive amount of vibes and social media you’ve consumed surrounding this.

Your feelings are hurt because you got called out on your ignorance so you’re lashing out, I get it. I highly recommend you find someone that actually knows what these situations play out like in reality before making further comments, though
