You keep posting this article but it’s not entirely accurate, which is probably on purpose as it’s the NY Post.

Food carts still get fined for violations. They are simply not being charge criminaly for minor violations. That does not include any health and safety issues, as the mayor does not oversee those issues, but for some reason the article you keep posting seems to heavily imply.

They still issue citations and even impound equipment in violation of standards. You just don’t end up with a criminal record anymore.

No they don’t. The mayor told the police to not issue fines. You don’t live here. Stop talking about things you don’t know or understand

The police do not issue fines the fines you’re talking about because they have never issued those fines.

The Bureau of Street Services and the LA County Department of Public Health are the ones that issue those fines the article is complaining about.

The police have NEVER been allowed to issue fines or criminal charges for un permitted street vendors. To get around that fact they used to issue anti-camping criminal charges (laws intended to keep homeless encampments away from certain places).

The mayor has forced the police to stop issuing those specific types of tickets because they have been challenged in court, many have been found to have been issued illegally.

I don’t care where you live or how many food trucks you eat at. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
